Torquay 4* star Hotels

Just had a Two night stay at the Grand. We were expecting to have a relaxing stay around the pool,not so,the changing rooms were dirty and the ladies were worse, according to my wife,very smelly and dirty floor.very disappointed!!! and only used it Once. We booked dinner for 7.15,still there at 9.30PM waiting for our dessert!!!when it did arrive it was just OK certinly not worth the wait. Restaurant service slow bhoweverstaff were very polite. Our room was ok for Three stars but not 4 stars. - Robert

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avenue Park. What a warm friendly welcome we had from Sandra and Keith who made us feel totally at home and gave us all the information we needed to see the local area in the short time we had. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and roomy with everything we needed. The food was delicious and we really looked forward to our breakfasts which were excellent and very tasty, really setting us up for the whole day. Avenue Park is - Carl

We have stayed in many hotels and B&B's around the UK and the Cleveland is definitely up there with the best. Driving up to the Hotel, we were pleased to see that the garden was very well kept and there were some lovely hanging baskets and beautiful Bonsai trees, all looking very heathly and well looked after. A good omen for the rest of the hotel? Yes! The owners of the Cleveland, Jane and Wayne, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There is a bar/lounge area, where you can sit - Steve

I had a really lovely stay at the Imperial and....we also had excellent weather! Everything about the hotel was fine. The location perfect,the room was lovely- a twin deluxe sea view. The balconies are really large and the views are wonderful. All in all I could not fault this hotel,and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly which is not always the case these days. The hotel had functions on both nights we were there, and it was very very busy,but the staff remained efficient and friend - Robert

We drove to the Torquay area having made no bookings. Thus we were passing trade and had never heard or been in the Hotel prior. On arrival we were greeted by and efficent and friendly receptionist who gave us a Sea facing family room for £110 per night. We booked for 3 nights. The room was spacious and had a large 6 foot bed and a room with twin beds and a small sitting area. The views were amazing and you could hear the waves crashing on the rocks and beach near by. Found The Parks on the internet and booked a last minute week's holiday. From the moment i spoke to Tim & Sarah to confirm availability i knew it was going to be good! Nothing but praise from our family for how well Tim & Sarah run their guest house. Lovely quiet location, yet only 10 minute's level walk to sea front and marina. Excellent full english breakfast started the day off perfectly. Kids loved the heated swimming pool. We look forward to our next stay at The Parks! Best Wis - Stephen

very comfortable room, friendly hosts who made us very welcome, very clean accommodation, lovely breakfast, bar available when you wanted it, 15 min walk to centre of torquay, so nice decided to stay for an extra night. Used the balcony/patio at the front of the hotel which was an added bonus. - Lukasz

Position was good - 5 to 10 mins walking distance to local restaurants, the beach and centre of town. The room (we were in the large double) was lovely - very clean and fresh, "English" furnishings, very comfortable with thoughtful touches and room to put everything. Windows can open for breezes. It was by far the best value room we had on our holiday. Breakfast - the best English one we had all trip. Also offers a Scandinavian style breakfast which is a bonus. But the very best thi - Linda

We stayed at the Cranmore between 2nd and 5th May, we were greeted by Bev and Paul, who offered to us tea and biscuits on arrival. We arrived at 12.00 and were allowed to book in straightaway. My parents in law were given room 2 which has a four poster bed, they were absolutely delighted with this, the room overlooked the main road, b;ut it was still very quiet. We were in room 4 which has recently been refurbished. The room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Room 5 has been refur - Anthony
