Aberdeen Hotels

I travel all over Scotland and am compiling a list of places to stay for future reference as well as for other travellers. I imagine there a lot of people like me who live out of a suitcase most of the week and go home at weekends. Therefore I feel I have a wide experience of hotels, guest houses and B&Bs. I shall endeavour to share my thoughts on trip advisor. The Holiday Inn in central Aberdeen is perfect for people like me. It is clean, the staff very efficient and from observing them - Paul

The hotel is not bad. It does appear to be an older hotel but most of Scotland appears to be that way. We stayed here two times during or 8 days in Scotland. For the weekend we drove done to Edinburgh then returned. The first 3 nights we were on the 3rd floor in an older unrefurbished room. I must say the room was nicer than the other reviews had stated. There was a little mold and everthing was a little aged however this is not the first time I have been in a hotel that had mold in the bathroom - Amanda

We booked for a family weekend break following a very stressful few months. The price, location, customer service and rooms were fantastic. We had been warned by the receptionist on the front desk that there was due to be a function on in the club below for both nights we were staying so she ensured we were put in a room furthest away from any noise disturbance. My partner and I stayed at the hotel a few months ago and it was nice, Now returning back to Aberdeen we decided to stay there again and it was nice to be back. We had room 25 which was really nice, refurbished as per our last stay in room 23. Once again, lovely staff and a cracking breakfast. I have actually recommended the hotel to my friends who are staying in Aberdeen for a Wedding. We are looking forward to returning in April!. - Julie

We booked a family room as we had two very young children with us. Although we were in the older part of the hotel and the lobbies looked in need of refurbishing, we were pleasantly suprised by the size of our room which was enormous and accommodated five of us more than comfortably. The room was clean and well furnished with all amenities. The staff and manager Jackie went out of their way to be helpful, especially regarding arrangements for the children. We got married in Norwood Hall and had our reception there in July 2009 and could not fault it! The day was perfect and everything ran smoothly and was better than we ever could have hoped for. A lot of this was due to the service we received at Norwood. From the minute we booked the venue (in February 2009) we could not fault them. They ensured everything was organised prior to the day so that on the day itself we could enjoy it and not worry about timings, etc. That is exactly what happened. T - Hilary

We read the reviews on LetsBookHotel and booked a night midweek. The location is superb for shopping, eating and drinking, the rooms are about the nicest I've seen anywhere and it has very friendly staff. Many thanks to Steph for looking after us, it's only a small place so it's far more personal than one of the big chains, and all the better for it. It felt more like staying at a friend's house than in a hotel, just the sort of place I like. - Robert

2nd time staying at the Thistle in the city centre and yet again it was really really nice. We stayed back in august last year and we were impressed with everything that we had no hesitation when we went back to Aberdeen. the re-furbishment is still going on but really not an issue, it will be much nicer when all finished.Lovely rooms & suites, great food and nice friendly staff. - Hywel
