Scarborough Hotels

After reading reviews on this site and booking a family room for two nights inc breakfast, we were expecting the worst. BUT it was fantastic. We had a newly renovated basement room, which still had a window looking over the sea, a huge comfortable double bed, jacuzzi bath. Spotlessly clean. The evening entertainment is more for the 50+ and the hotel is usually full of National Holiday clients but this is no problem apart from at breakfast when many of the OAPs get a bit competitive at the buffet - Peter

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the sands sea front apartments. The ones with the sea view are more expensive but well worth the extra, because the view from the balcony overlooking the sea is wonderful. All the furnishings in the apartment are luxurious and the service is warm and welcoming. It was difficult to leave such a beautiful place,and We can't wait to return. - Andrew

We stayed at Brooklands on 15th August and had our wedding at the hotel. Many of our guests stayed over too and although a couple of them said the rooms were in need of some decoration the overall feeling was that it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough. They were efficient and always on hand but sort of managed to dwindle into the background. The rooms were immaculate downstairs that we used for the wedding and the reception. We hired the nightclub for t - Jeremy

This is the 2nd time in three months that we stayed - we have a 4 year old and was nervous when we first stayed as to if he would be welcome - on both occasions the staff made a great fuss of him and even remebered him. The rooms were faultless and the brekkie was really enjoyable. Yesterday he was feeling a little unwell and we didnt want to take him into the breakfast room so asked if we could eat in a different place - absolutley no probelm nothing was or is too much trouble for them. - Mark

Stayed from Thurs to Mon - excellent weekend. Couldn't really find fault with anything. After reading previous reviews we were not really expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. Pauline and Greg made us very welcome, as did Tima (not sure of spelling) and even put up with my limited Spanish!!! We have stayed in many hotels over the years that have been far more expensive that this and in comparison this comes out as one of the better ones. Will definitely be returning many times in the - Alison

A great find, if you are looking to be in the Scarborough area but dont want to be in the resort itself, the East Ayton Lodge is literally a 10 minute drive away. We stayed for 1 night at the East Ayton Lodge this summer, we had a fabulous evening and were made to feel very welcome. We stayed in the annex of the hotel as we had our dog with us but the room was lovely & very clean. We had drinks in the bar area before having a fabulous meal in the beautiful dining room, which is both elegant - Stephen

Stayed for one night. The hotel is huge, we were on the 4th floor and the corridors seem to go on for miles. Excellant public areas, room was a good size, exceptionally clean. The location would be very difficult to beat, located in O'Connall Street near to main shopping area of Henry Street, 5 mins from the River Liffey. Airport bus (Number 747) stops outside. Didn't eat there, although the food looked great, there is plenty of cheaper options nearby. The only little criticisim, was waiting for - David

Sea front hotel on the North Bay with cheap (£1.40 for four days) street parking outside. It's around a ten minute walk to the town centre shops. We had a comfy first floor room with flat screen tv (various channels) and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was rather narrow but shower well powered. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was first class. Breakfast was a real highlight of the day, with lots of variety and always served with a smile. The budget pricing structure and gener - Rachel

I think i have said it all , what a find. and free parking . which is very important in Scarborough. everywhere you go its car park charges. The only one thing is No Lift. so top floor is a no no for the unfit . The finishing touches are luxurious., and top standards . like flat screen Samsung 32 inch with free view. and Wi Fi connection. and the bathroom is a sheer indulgence. will certainly rebook . - Niamh

WOW, perfection, we couldn't have been more pleased, the owners were polite and welcoming and did everything they could to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Our room was fantastic, modern and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were as good as I have ever had and they had a good choice (loved the kippers). The hotel is well located near the beach and shops and is excellent value. We have stayed in many similair establishments in Scarborough but the Ashburton is by far the best and also the che - Fernando

we booked the leeway on the net at the last minute. there was four of us and we booked two rooms we were pleasently surprised when we got there we was greeted by tony on arrival and shown to our rooms which were spacious and very nice indeed. we stayed two nights and had a lovely time the breakfast was excellent in the morning there was plenty of choice and couldnt fault it we were set up for the day! elaine the lady who owned the hotel along with tony was lovely and very friendly and served bre - Michael
