Our trip was arranged around a trip to the Thermae Spa, which was within very easy walking distance of the hotel, and a "must do" of the Bizarre Bath Comedy tour- we were delighted to find the Huntsman Pub (meeting place for Bizarre Bath) was about 4 paces from the Hotel - so we couldn't have planned that better! The reception staff were very welcoming, and helpful, when we arrived a few hours before official "check-in" time, asking to leave our luggage. When we returned la - Diana

On the whole the hotel wasn't bad the staff were polite and helpful, the breakfast room was very pleasant with plenty of choice as well as full English if required. Our room was very small but clean and had a nice view. However, I think £240 for two nights bed and breakfast is a bit steep for a hotel which in my opinion only warrents three stars. - David

From the minute we pulled up at the hotel I knew we were going to like it! Our welcome from Toni was great, she showed us around personally telling us lots of useful information on the way! Our room, Keats, to be recommended - right at the top of the house but with windows on two aspects made it light and airy and the most wonderful views over the hills and Bath below. We had drinks each evening in the lovely cosy lounge before setting off for dinner (try Bath Priory - pricy but worth it). - Carla

Ok I found that the Traditional English breakfast was cooked in oil (and not fat as they should be cooked) and that's the only fault I could find! Everything else was just great, location, staff, room, cleanliness. If I wanted to show a friend from abroad England at its best, and experience what England is, then I would book them into the Carfax Hotel for a night. - Brian

Enter an atmosphere of period charm in Dorian House, built of Bath stone circa 1880. It is a fine example of victorian architecture at its most elegant, retaining all of its original features. Spacious rooms have a restful ambience and views over the Royal Crescent or well-tenned gardens. Some have traditional oak four poster beds and are luxuriously decorated with opulent fabrics and stunning decor.

We arrived at Dorian House tired and weary and received a warm and friendly welcome before being taken to a sumptuous room which was clean and airy. We stayed three nights and the breakfasts were delicious and fresh without exception. Most importantly, the team at Dorian House were so attentive and obliging. Having stayed in many hotels throughout the country over the years, this was leaps and bounds above all the rest and we will definitely be going back! Recommended to all for a fantastic and - Andrew

We would give it 5 stars in every way- decor and furnishings, service, location (just a few minutes level walk into town) and the lovely generous breakfasts. Greg and Denise are wonderful hosts and we felt so at home we added an extra night. The beautiful little garden was a real bonus. We will definitely return.
