Located just 10 minutes’ walk from Bath’s famous Royal Crescent, with the Roman Baths less than a 20-minute walk away. Guests can enjoy an à la carte breakfast in the morning. The restaurant, with views of the garden, serves fresh local produce and delicious classic dishes for dinner. The bar is open all day for tea, coffee, afternoon tea and light snacks, plus an extensive drinks menu. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment and has 55 spacious en-suite rooms over 3 floors, all with a TV, telephone, radio, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and WiFi.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downstairs rooms were lovely, it's easy to see what a great house the building must once have been. The room was excellent value for money, especially as the price included breakfast, and the location is good, only 10 mins walk down the hill into Bath. Don't let your satnav take you through the scary backstreets with steep roads, the hotel is easily reached by bigger and less scary ones!.
all reviews » V friendly staff - good setting up the hill from the city but with a fine view from upper floors - bedroom was functional clean comfortable with a v powerful shower - and although the decor was a little tired and dated it added to the overall feel of an old English hotel from years ago - so whilst that could seem negative in fact it added to the fun of the one night stay. There was a wonderful atmosphere about the Landsdowne Hotel. I really enjoyed it. The room we had was large and comfortable with a lovely little 'lounge area'. It was easily accessible to the proper areas of Bath (although up a very steep hill) and in general we found it had character and charm and comfort and was very affordable. Excellent staff, we booked twin room because all the doubles were full and when we asked in the check-in whether they had by any chance free double they gave us ambassador double room for the same prize as the twin we booked. Room beautiful and clean with nice bathroom. Also the breakfasts were very good, huge choice of meals. The hotel is in a great location just five minutes up the hill from the centre of Bath. The reception staff are very friendly, and check in is smooth. Bar prices are reasonable for a hotel, and comaprable to pubs in the area. The rooms are comfortable, and the communal lounge areas are also very nice places to relax. Very friendly staff on reception, willing to help and interested in our trip. Although the hotel was a little 'tired' looking in places overall the hotel was well kept and our room was warm and clean. Despite what other guests have said, we found the breakfast to be quite good. Courtyard Room , real accessible having car just outside , comfy bed , good breakfast , friendly , helpful staff :)... A nice walk into town, but rather a steep up hill walk back ,,but also u can get a taxi £4.50 !! Cheaper than bus !!. Staff were really friendly and could not assist you enough. Ample carparking on site during the week. Handiness of the bar after walking up the hill on a hot day. Hill up is very steep but a bus service is available. The hotel was not the smartest I have ever been to, but it was clean, the staff was helpful and efficient, the breakfast was good and overall it was excellent value for money and I would stay there again. Fawlty Towers like atmosphere but in a good way.....the bar quiz on Sunday evening! Staff friendly, good location....perfectly fine as long as you're not expecting the Premier Inn. The single room I had was a bit shabby and the sink didn't drain too well. The shower was powerful but too strong for the fitting so that it flew off while in use and I had to resort to holding it in one hand. My room overlooked the road and was rather noisy, even with the double glazing shut. carpeted floor to ceiling lift was a bit musty !!. Hotel is little old and you can see that on various facilities, for example the elevator is a complete disaster. The one thing that we didn't like was the attitude of the lady at breakfast, she forced us to move after choosing a table we liked, for no apparent reason. Also her general manner and service was very abrupt, and not what I'd expect when paying the amount we did for Bed and Breakfast. Room seemed a little budget :( Bed not too comfortable and staff at Breakfast didnt look as though they were enjoying their job too much!. Nothing really, we thought it was good value for money. Slightly cold room , but extra heater delivered within 5 min :) Bathroom slightly tatty , but great deep bath & hot water in abundance . Would come again .. Not so much a dislike but could be improved was the damp marks on the ceiling. Small and carpeted lift!. Nothing. The mattresses in our room were lumpy and the pillows too flat. More car parking spaces may be necessary. WiFi did not work properly in my room, then I had to go lobby for internet. Nothing however it is high up a hill and would not suit those not prepared to walk a kilometre or so into the heart of the city. Very difficult to log into hotel wi-fi The Cloud from my room (327) and in fact never managed to even with the stronger signal downstairs because of security protocals on my notebook. On arrival there was a mix up with the booking which was initially poorly dealt with by one member of staff. nothing. May I make one suggestion we have always been able to stay at your hotel for 3 nights but arriving on the Sunday we miss out on your three day break and this way it has cost us approx another £100.00p.As with the break the evening meal is inclusive in the price. I must say though the meals are excellent, no complaints regarding that. We were there for 3 days and the wifi was never working for anyone. I didn't mind this but there are some steps on each level - not catered for by the lift. Not all the rooms are affected (maybe the minority.) However the staff are very obliging. It was at the top of a very steep hill which I didn't know until I got there. no dislikes,. Few cobwebs in room therefore could be cleaner!Taps were loose in bathroom. Nothing really, decor was a bit dated. Nothing to dislike. Nothing. Single lift a long way from our room. The steep hill into town. Stay not long enough!. Limited choice of wines in the bar. Some rooms are a long, long way from reception and many sets of stairs are involved in reaching one's room. the procedure in the restaurant is complicated. we get a bill for each course so we gave up and didn't get that extra glass of wine or pudding. The hotel felt a little dated. My room entered straight on to the carpark which wasn't a issue but not ideal. Also its possibly the hottest hotelbi have ever stayed in. Bring plenty of water. a bit of a steep climb to the hotel if your wanting to go back & forth to the town centre, but there are buses if your lazy. Very warm and stuffy on the room. rooms a little tired now. maybe a re decoration would really pull this lovely hotel back into this century. having said that we enjoyed our stay and liked the character. and ambience.
