    Staff were very friendly and helpful. The downstairs rooms were lovely, it's easy to see what a great house the building must once have been. The room was excellent value for money, especially as the price included breakfast, and the location is good, only 10 mins walk down the hill into Bath. Don't let your satnav take you through the scary backs... what people say » treets with steep roads, the hotel is easily reached by bigger and less scary ones! - V friendly staff - good setting up the hill from the city but with a fine view from upper floors - bedroom was functional clean comfortable with a v powerful shower - and although the decor was a little tired and dated it added to the overall feel of an old English hotel from years ago - so whilst that could seem negative in fact it added to the fun of the one night stay.

    Perfect - breakfast is wonderful; you can't get breakfast like this for under 12pound in the town. The rooms are beautifully furnished and our bed was the most comfortable we have slept in by far. We had a view of the park across the road and it was good to keep the window open all night for fresh air. The Hypnos beds that are advertised on the home page are probably older ones (as they are not so comfortable as our Hypnos bed at home :-)). Breakfast was delicious! In total a little bit to expensive for what you get.

    The hotel was lovely. The setting was beautiful, the rooms were spacious, attractive and very clean. The whole setting had a wonderful atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff could not have done more to make us comfortable.     Great welcome, I arrived late and the dining room had closed, but they booked me in with no fuss. The menu was broad, good affordable wine list and the cooking was excellent.     The location is outstanding - just around the corner from Bath's main attractions. My room was very nice - included a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, etc. It was a single room with a single bed - exactly what I needed - no space wasted. The bedrooms were spacious, extremely comfortable with all the touches you'd - The hotel is situated right in the middle of one of the most iconic Georgian buildings in the UK. The decor of the hotel is certainly in keeping with the grandeur of its location and the spa and restaurant were faultless. The service provided by the staff was impeccable - which is a first in my experience! All the staff were warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

    The room was comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and a big bathroom. A great state of the art gym with all the machines and weights you would hope for- these seemed almost brand new!     The accommodation was immaculate, good location very central, was a little noisy due to being in center of town. No car parking but car park only about 5 mins walk away cost £12 per day to park.     Lovely large room with huge bathroom, the freestanding bath was a really nice feature, the only problem being inadequate lighting in the bedroom area - lovely lamps etc but I couldn't see what I was getting out of my case properly!!. Yes, the stairs are a bit of a nightmare (certainly get you puffing), but they wouldn't stop me staying here again... what people say » . Location is great and a good selection to choose from at breakfast - service was a bit haphazard but the food was really nice. We stayed for 2 night - very impressed with johnathon the manager he no's his trade, the breakfast waitress very proffessional and helpful and breakfast very nice and plenty to start you off for the day, the room very nice and comfortable. thankyou very much to the manager johnathon,sally and staff. i would definatly recomend youre hotel to friends and family

    My husband and I just had a wonderful couple of nights at Oldfields. What made it so special was how friendly the staff are - making us tea/biscuits on arrival and when we got back from a long day out the following afternoon, and giving us helpful info on Bath (where to go, where to eat out etc.).     Very quiet. Slept well. I stayed before in Bath city centre hotels and the noise from the street made it hard to sleep full nights. But it was great at the university of Bath. It is a bit out of the city, but then again, it is quiet. Also has great facilities on-site: supermarket, cashpoints, post office desks, bars, etc. - Room was larger than e... what people say » xpected - despite having booked a single I got a small double bed which was lovely. Breakfast was also good and while the uni is out of town the bus runs every ten or twenty minutes from around 7.30 to midnight so getting around wasn't a problem. For the price it's a bargain.
