Torquay Family Friendly Rooms Hotels

Torquay is a long town and Babbacombe an area to the east of the centre. Good links, however, make access to the whole area an easy process. Babbacombe Guest House is no architectural beauty but once inside that ceases to be of importance as the welcome is very friendly and the whole establishment spotless. I guess our room was much as the others, not large but in very good order and with a clever use of space. Despite the busy road we found it quiet both from external and internal disturbance. - Alan

If you are looking for first class accomodation in the Torbay area, then this is the place. Situated in a quiet location about 1/4 mile from the sea front, with good access by rail, bus and car (free hotel car park). We stayed in room 3, a large airey double with an ajoining room housing two single beds. Ensuite (in the double), TV/DVD player in both rooms. Decor is very clean, modern and well thought out. Breakfast is served in a small dining room with a large window overlooking the front garde - Carol

We stayed at the Cranmore between 2nd and 5th May, we were greeted by Bev and Paul, who offered to us tea and biscuits on arrival. We arrived at 12.00 and were allowed to book in straightaway. My parents in law were given room 2 which has a four poster bed, they were absolutely delighted with this, the room overlooked the main road, b;ut it was still very quiet. We have just been to the charterhouse hotel for a short break and what a great find.The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of town and all its restaurants and attractions.The owners are very friendly and on our arrival made us feel welcome straight away.The hotel has a lovely home from home feel and is very quiet and relaxing. We both enjoyed a lovely home cooked breakfast made with tasty local produce with lots of choice. We would recommend anyone to give this hotel a try - you - Susan

Our experie a t the buckingham Lodge was remarkable. we were welcomed with the most warmest of welcomes, comfortable environment and the freindliest of faces from Steve and Nicola. The cleanliness of the hotel was superb, the atmosphere was great and the service and the food was excellent. Our stay was most memorable and we would highly reccomend the Buckingham Lodge. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (17th-20th June) and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The rooms are newly refurbished and clean and bright with very good en suite facilities. The breakfasts - cooked to order - are superb and with a great choice. We stayed bed and breakfast but an evening meal option is available at £15 per person - wine extra. Whilst we have no doubt that they would also be excellent we felt that the price was a bit steep considering the number of places to eat that - Catherine

We arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome with tea/coffee and cosy chat about the hotel. This made everyone feel at ease instantly. From then on we experienced nothing but polite and warm hospitality and efficiency. The hotel is situated close to the seafront - about ten minutes walk - with a seaview from the garden where extra seating is available to enjoy a quiet drink and chat. WEDDING 2ND JUNE 2007 My daughter had her reception at this hotel on the 2nd June, we booked it here because of the friendy attitude of the staff, we had looked at several hotels and they were all setting pre conditions their packages etc, when we went to the Glendower the manager Andrew said tell me what you would like and we will help you in any way. The day itself from arriving to check out they could not do enough for us. The 3 course meal was excellent and the service superb. Again bre - Ruben

My husband and I have just returned from a five day stay at the Bute Court Hotel. Although it is in need of some updating, the room we had was large and comfortable with a 2 seater settee and plenty of drawer and cupboard space available. It was warm, carpeted and the bed was very comfortable. The only down side to the room was that the en-suite was tiny, just enough room for a shower and toilet and the shower was a little bit temperamental, but once you had sorted the temperature, it was fine. - Ana
