  We were amazed! Not wanting the formality of a hotel and having stayed in luxury apartments in coastal resorts for our summer holidays we thought we would try The Lawrance. Only two words can described our feelings when we unlocked the door - absolutely fabulous! I would not hesitate to recommend this to any friends or relatives wanti - Blown away by the plush, stylish apartment. We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV) Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum. The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :)

  Host greeted us on arrival, made to feel very welcome. Rooms were nice and bathroom was lovely. Had all the top floor to our selves. Was close to the centre and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was very nice, everything you could have wanted. We stayed on the top floor and the rooms were perfect with a nice view from the rooftop windows. Nikki made us a lovely breakfast and gave us a lot of information and directions around the city of York. I would recommend staying here and would love to come back for another visit one day.

Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! York Minster was a 5 minute walk with shopping, restaurants and pubs everywhere. - Location, near a gate to the old city and very close to shops, as the main reason for our visit was to do our Christmas shopping. Accurate, detailed instructions for finding the apartment were easy to follow. Also the small problem we had with the kitchen lighting was dealt with very promptly, effectively and courteously. The apartment was warm and cosy and suited our needs very well.
