  The room was immaculately clean and I can't honestly suggest how it could be improved. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. I will definitaly recommend it to friends and will definitely stay there again.   The Blakeny is a family run b@b,excelent value, spotlessly clean with a wondeful home cooked breakfast far more than one could possibly eat but irresistable. Large room comfortable bed and cosy doona small but adequate bathroom with very good shower. Delightful stay.It is a bit far from town but the bus is right outside the door and only takes 10 minutes. The same bus goes into - we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.

Only 10 minute, nice walk into the centre. - The guest house was lovely and clean and the room was the same we were really pleased with it and will definately stay there next time we come to York.

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Ashbourne House. The room was fantastic and very inviting. The breakfast was very good and included many choices. Also, they provided us with a babycot and a highchair. There was a variety of complimentary teas and coffee in the room along with a clean water pitcher and cups. Also, we really liked its location... what people say » . I would highly recommend this BandB to anyone!! - We had two different types of rooms which were both extremely well kept and very clean. There was an excellent selection for breakfast. The hotel was within walking distance of the city and not too far from other attractions. Paul and Julie were welcoming and helpful when we needed information during our stay. I would recommed this hotel to anyone.

  I informed the owners of my arrival time which was after their cut off, but they were there to greet us with a map of the city and some extra local tips.(other reviews suggest being left stranded by the owners, I would suggest these people didn't inform them of late arrival!) The room was spacious, and the bathroom spotless and highly functional ... what people say » (other reviews report tiny showers but I am a big lady and had NO problems at all! The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of lighting, a TV, - The friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing especially the scrambled egg! It was great to be able to leave the car parked for our stay and walk to everything. We also found the information folder very useful. Loved all the photos of York around the place and Zoe was really helpful with advice on where to go and places to see. We also loved the smell of the bread baking for breakfast which we woke up to each morning. My wife and I both enjoyed
