We really enjoyed our stay at the Ashbourne House. The room was fantastic and very inviting. The breakfast was very good and included many choices. Also, they provided us with a babycot and a highchair. There was a variety of complimentary teas and coffee in the room along with a clean water pitcher and cups. Also, we really liked its location. I would highly recommend this BandB to anyone!!.
all reviews » We had two different types of rooms which were both extremely well kept and very clean. There was an excellent selection for breakfast. The hotel was within walking distance of the city and not too far from other attractions. Paul and Julie were welcoming and helpful when we needed information during our stay. I would recommed this hotel to anyone.We arrived late and tired to the hotel due to traffic jams on the motorways, but were still met with a friendly welcome. We found a clean, well kept and comfortable ensuite room with tea and coffee available and the following morning a beautifully cooked English Breakfast served with a smile and a dash of very helpful local knowledge. Lovely. Paul and Julie were the perfect hosts from the moment we met them, The hotel was very clean with good rooms with all the modern touch's you would want. The Breakfast was excellent and it was nice to have a 15 minute walk into the centre by the side of the river leaving the car behind.We cannot fault anything, we will definately be going back and will recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. We couldn't have felt more welcome, it was spotlessly clean,the breakfast was delicious and would like to say thankyou very much for an enjoyable stay. We have stayed at Ashbourne House 4 times now. Because we had an odd number in our party we booked 4 rooms for 7 people. 2 of our party were in a family room that would have slept 3 people. It would have been good to have been offered this room at booking but there was no mention of this option at that time.the room we stayed in was very warm,despite a fan being provided. no lounge or downstairs toilet, and all rooms upstairs without a lift. Not suitable if disabled .Parking.

From the South via the m1/a1 and a64:
Turn off the m1/a1 onto the a64 Leeds-York road. Follow the signs to York city centre and after passing the race course on the left and then crossing the river, take the slip road for the a19 Selby-York road (also marked Designer Outlet). Follow the signs for York, going through the village of Fulford and then past 2 sets of traffic lights. After the second set of traffic lights you will pass Fulford Chase on the left. Ashbourne House is on the right just a little further down the road.

From the North via the city centre:
Follow the signs for Selby and the A19 South. Travel past the Police Headquarters and Imphal Barracks on the left. Ashbourne House is about 200 metres further down the road on the left.
