Without doubt we really enjoyed our stay at the Woodman Inn. - Delightful surroundings, a charming building that has been sympathetically and recently restored to a very high standard. The Staff provided an outstanding service, ably supported by an excellent chef. The evening meal was excellent; terrific flavours and superb value for money, as was the breakfast. And if you like a good ale there are plenty to choose from. Very highly recommended.

Seeing how diappointed we were the young woman went to ask the landlord if he could reccomend somewhere or provide a sandwich. Richard very kindly made us fish and chips, which were excellent and so very welcome after a full day on the road. Everyone was friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. I would describe the inn as a successful pub with rooms for guests. The restaurant staff take care of the incoming guests. They are very helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and very impressive. There was plenty of information about the hotel, restaurant and local attractions available in the room. We ate in the restaurant and were very impressed by both the standard of food and service. The Calverley Arms provided a level of service rarely found in some hotels charging three times their rates.
