We stayed in the riverside Merchant Exchange apartment and the location was brilliant, just a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants & tourist attractions. The views across the city and river were lovely and the apartment was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We appreciated that parking, Wi-Fi and Sky HD were all included in the price. Although we booked a studio apartment we were surprised that there was a fair amount of space in the apartment itself. Plenty of crockery etc., and some tea bags, water and soft drinks which were a bonus. Ideal if you don't like the idea of having huge breakfasts at a B & B or hotel. We would definitely book these apartments again. Very central to the Town.

A great location on Bootham Terrace. Only minutes from centre of York. The apartment contains all one would require for a stay. It was large enough for four persons without getting in each others way. Elevator to the apartment was a bonus and good security. I enjoyed the proximity to the centre of Harrogate. Nice little cool shops and bars on Cold Bath Road minutes round the corner. Very comfy beds and good linen. Great shower. A bathroom for each bedroom. Double glazed so quiet. Really nice kitchen. Clean, contemporary and thankfully no chintz. -

It was close to city centre, about 15 minutes walk. Cute little room with a comfy bed. Not a lot of frills, but didn't feel like anything I needed was really lacking. Had a cozy inn kind of feel to it. The staff was very nice and let us keep our car in the car park after we checked out so we could wander the city a bit. -

Marmadukes is a fabulous hotel. We have been coming here annually since 2006 and have stayed in most of the room styles. However, this latest trip was particularly memorable as we received a free upgrade on arrival to the York Suite. It was stunning. And to think we had the whole of the suite for the same price as our original booking was a great touch. Location was central only yards from York Minster. Staff were extremely helpful and it was excellent. Would certainly recommend. We had a fantastic time and are definitely going back. The owners are brilliant and went out if their way to help and friendly. 10 out of 10 from me
