I don't usually leave reviews, but I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The welcome was extraordinary - it was as though I were a long-lost friend. I stayed in Room 1, which has a four-poster bed and a splendid bathroom. The room was perfectly clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was first class - have the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Made in a pan, not the microwave! Thick, hand-cut toast, and butter at room temperature. Simply excellent.

Everything about my stay at Goldsborough Hall was what I had hoped for and beyond what I expected. The house is beautiful and set in lovely grounds which are well worth a walk around. The room was spacious, comfortable and immaculate. The staff and owners were friendly and curteous. Every moment I was there I felt welcome and also that my satisfaction was the priority. Goldsborough Hall provides the country manor stay that you think you can only dream of. I will definitely be returning.

Upgrade to top suite, much appreciated. Impeccable, top notch service. Good car parking facilities. Convenient short cab ride into York city centre, also good for racecourse. - Everything. We thought the suite was beautiful. The bed was so, so comfortable and the layout of the room very much to our liking. The whole suite was "quality". The breakfast was immense and kept us going until early evening. The staff we met were very polite and very attentive. The area outside our suite was very nice but the weather wasn't conducive to sitting outside. I would recommend "Mount Royale" very highly! Convenient to the city and all its attractions.
