  Amazing! I didn't know what to expect from the hotel or the location. What a great surprise. The Lake District, the Village of Grasmere and the Waterside hotel were great!. The hotel was spotless, great staff, room was fantastic. Amenities were great in the room and in the hotel. The big suprise was the food at the hotel. Breakfast was good,... what people say » but dinner was absolutely fantastic!! - The peace and quiet in the gardens and the excellent breakfasts.thestaff were very friendly and helpful.this is the second time we havestayed here and we have enjoyed both stays.we would'nt hesitate to stayagain if we could get a good deal like the one we have just had.

  Everything. What a fantastic place. Brilliant staff who virtually guided me to the door when my sat nav gave up! Great food and wonderful views. A must place to go! - it is a little hard to find this hostel but on the way of looking for it, the scenery is amazing!!!!

  This is a very beautiful hotel, set in an idyllic spot with views of Grasmere Lake and the fells. Really one of the loveliest spots in England. The staff were friendly and helpful and the fact that the hotel was completely booked shows how popular it is. One guest told me he'd been coming for 28 years and this is my third time. We found it to be so lovely, peaceful and relaxing, a proper home from home. It has a beautiful dining room, and with lovely comfy lounges and views. We enjoyed the pitch-and-put no end. The hotel is only a couple of mins walk into the center of Grasmere, just perfect! And with lovely staff, we would definitely go again. Stephen & Jean

  This spectacularly appointed building is set slightly above the village of Grasmere. Our welcome was warm and genuine. The room was basic, (what we expected), but suited the purpose of a clean cosy place to stay at the end of an adventurous day. The breakfast was fantastic, as were the packed lunches and evening meals. The location is just sublime... what people say » and peaceful. We will be going back again. - We travelled with a small child and were made to feel very welcome, with the travel cot set up for us on arrival. The hostel is a lovely old building in a stunning setting and a two-minute walk from the nice shops and cafes in the village. We booked dinner at short notice and were very pleased with the quality and price of the food. I can't fault anything!
