  The halls were in a really nice place - it was quiet enough for a good nights sleep but really close to the tube and all the restaurants and bars in Angel. The staff were nice and the room was clean and sufficient. The bathroom was clean and we didn't have to wait for a shower. The breakfast was great and we were served very quickly. We didn't act... what people say » ually realise that we would be staying in student halls but this was not an issue at all. - The price! It was an amazing price for such a central location in London. The little things too - there was a drinking fountain to fill my water bottle up with, a well equipped kitchen, clean shower/toilet room, lots of wall sockets in helpful places, free wifi, good range of options for breakfast, working lifts, towel supplied. Great area, lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

  The location of the LSE is fantastic. The rooms, whilst basic, were of a very good size for Central London, and the hotel was quiet. Great to be situated close to reception. Very close to theatres so I didn't have to rush for the train home after the performance. Staff were lovely especially Jo. Informal and homely. Spotless.   I liked that it was always clean everywhere and that the staff were always so nice and helpfull. I also liked that the hotel was open 24/7 so you didn't have to worry about getting back there too late. Another thing that I appreciated were the guards outside when it got late, because it felt more safe. All in all I'm very happy with my stay there and I'd recommend The Generator to anyone going to London - The bar in the hostel is awesome. The general atmosphere of the place is great - definitely the way to go if you want to meet other young people and have a damn good time. Drinks prices in the bar weren't too bad - £2.20 on all drinks (except doubles!) and the kareoke was fun. Staff were very friendly too.

  We stayed on three occasions for a total of eleven nights during June & July 2013. The hotel is situated in a "business area" with the popular Borough Market nearby. It is within walking distance of the underground and many of London's tourist attractions. We always felt safe walking in the area. All staff were very friendly, helpful and effic... what people say » ient. They put themselves out to assist us. Each room we stayed in was different ranging from typical "European" size to larger than what you would e - Great location on the Thames, views of St Paul's , the Gherkin and The Shard. Staff exceptionally friendly and happy. The comfiest bed ive ever slept in, much better than the 5 star knightsbridge hotel we stayed in earlier in year! Great breakfast in the Anchor pub next door. Breakfast room upstairs with river & terrace views . Lots to do in area, took the river boat down to the Eye (you can also walk this in 15- 20mins) then 10 mins on foot to Horseguards parade and onto Trafalgar Square.

  Fantastic location. Doesn't need to be self catering though, so much to do close by I only spent 4 hours in hotel. Day staff were very accommodating. At the end of the day, it's a student building for most of the term, It was quiet, clean with a great view over london ( the back view is the scene from the end of sky fall where James Bond is... what people say » on the roof) I would happily stay here again. I would rate this a good place to stay if on a budget and you are more interested in London than - Huge room in an amazing location - not even a block from Trafalgur square! Everything close by and easily accessible. Laundry facility was available too and the beds were very comfortable. Probably the best value you could get in such an amazing location - we liked to get the metro out somewhere then walk back (for example we got the metro to Kings Cross station then walked back and did sight-seeing on the way).

It is very quiet and did not have any issues with being woken up in the middle of the night. I was surprised to see that there were many different age groups represented.
