Hotels near Tate Modern London

We stayed at this hotel for my son's 11th birthday and had a wonderful time. The hotel is stylish and the staff were very helpful and welcoming, which added to the enjoyment of our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, beautifully clean, with a smart bathroom and power shower. I liked the way that we had a phone call from reception after we had checked in, asking if everything was all right with the room (it certainly was). My wife and I stayed here on 13 June 2009. The hotel is in a quiet location just south of the river. Good location for the theatres on the south bank - Globe, Old Vic, Young Vic in particular but also close enough to the National Theatre - and the galleries and museums. Reception was friendly and efficient. Room was basic (as one would expect) but spotlessly clean. Wouldn't recomend it for a long business trip as desk space very small but fine for leisure or short trip. Firm, comfortable bed. Ai - Edward

I have stayed here many times over the last 12 months on business. My company has an office just over London Bridge, near the Monument. The hotel is very modern and clean and has a reasonable restaurant on top. Location is good for access to the City & Tube and price is reasonable considering the location...as a tourist though location would be poor IMHO. The rooms are on the small side but well designed and air conditioned, which is vital for the Summer. There is free use of a safe in the r - Steve

Stayed here Friday night in October. Booked in advance on a non-refundable tariff and got room for 2 adults and 1 child incl breakfast for £109 which was fantastic value. When we checked in (slightly early, but not a problem) they were only expecting 2 adults. Fortunately our confirmation quoted 2+1 and they put us in a family room, but as the hotel was very busy it was lucky we arrived early. Had two nights here (April 18/19). The hotel was chosen for its proximity to the Royal Festival Hall at the South Bank Centre which is less than 15 minute gentle walk from the hotel as are the Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall (containing the Purcell Room), National Film Theatre, London Eye, Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. The hotel is at the south end of Blackfriars bridge and whilst there is a lot of traffic around especially in the early morning on weekdays our bedroom (room 30 - - Joseph

consider this central london option if you like self-catered travel or want to try it. personally, i prefer this to hotels. i got a 1 br apartment with a modern fully equipped kitchen for considerably less than any reasonable hotel option. you will be pretty much on your own, though there's someone at the front desk 24 hr/day.i found these folks friendly and helpful. the location is excellent: right in the middle of the city of london (the financial district) with 3 tube stations & st paul - Paul

We did a LOT of research before booking our trip to London and finally decided on the London Bridge Hotel. It was quite expensive but WELL worth it!!! The room (executive king) was fab! Nice size, very clean. The bed was VERY VERY comfy. We had a 3 course dinner there which was delicious - fruit platter desert was amazing!! Breakfast was good- a good choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was great- only a few minutes in a taxi from Waterloo. I would DEFINITELY stay there again- - Jane

Staying at Lombard Lane was a pleasant experience. The location was perfect and the its self check-in service made my stay private and personal. The apartment itself was very tidy and new with great facilities. I will definatly be back next time, however i did have to call the office once and they dealt with my query immediatly. - Gillian

We have just spent 6 nights at Marlin apartments, Borough. Having read some of the previous reviews we were going to cancel but stayed with it and are so pleased we did. Check in was easy. We had prepared ourselves for a rude reception, but, on the contrary, the concierge was very welcoming, helpful and pleasant. Our one bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor, overlooked the very nice square at the back. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, light and airy. It tended to be warm but the windows were big - Jonathan
