    The balance of original features and modern commodities was perfect. Staff made us feel like at home, so welcoming and trusting (the Honesty Box was a first for us coming from London!!).     Room was large and quite comfortable. Full english breakfast was generous and got you going early. The walk into Canterbury (and restaurants) was short and the walk to the train station was just 10 minutes -- we pulled our bags with no problem. Very cheerful proprietors.     It is, by a long way, the loveliest place I've ever stayed; beats every five star hotel I've stayed in, in every country, and every US State. The staff, Sarah and Sarah, are so friendly and enthusiastic, the rooms are gorgeous (I had a deluxe room; enormous and beautiful room, with large bathroom - even nicer than the pictures, which is quite some... what people say » thing!), overlooking beautiful lawns and part of the Canterbury countryside that is so picturesque. Breakfast is extremely good; and the layout of the - This large B&B has several choices of accommodation, and we stayed in the cottage at the top of the yard set apart from the other buildings, which was very romantic. It had the most comfortable bed you can imagine, a roaring wood-burning stove, and a lovely view. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in an English B&B, everything fresh and local and of excellent quality.

    Girl on reception was exceptionally helpful and friendly. A really good first impression. The room was simple but stylish. - Proximity to the centre, ease of access and parking facilities. Very nice setting and out of the ordinary in a good way.

    I booked this hotel because it was cheap and central, and was delighted at the bonus that was a warm, welcoming, quirky hotel (the second-oldest building in Canterbury I was informed) with lovely, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Also bottled wat - You step back into history walking in here - You can feel the atmosphere of an old Hostelry in times gone by - and what a lovely little back terrace to sit and have breakfast or just a coffee. The owners and staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. Great Breakfast and a wonderful place all round.     What a relief to stay here after the endless run of b&b's and guesthouses! A fresh, youth hostel (people under 40!) with great kitchen facilities, wi-fi, tv room and the lot. Cooked my own meal for the first time I can remember. They have a laundry service!! The guy even paired my socks. Up there with some of the quality hostels in places like... what people say » New Zealand - a far cry from the multi-storey intensities of London. Relaxed vibe without partying or cliques. Perfect! - Brilliant place - were really helpful and accomodating. I was in town for an interview and the young lad let me use one of the empty bedrooms as a quiet place to practice. Very much appreciated! Also the facilities are great - free wifi, free fresh veg from the garden out back (!), and a really nice garden to sit in and chill out. Really great! Staff were super friendly too.

    We had a really nice stay. The hotel was traditional in a nice way, excellent breakfasts, a very pleasant restaurant with good food, a comfortable room, and friendly, professional staff. Also the location is good (readily accessible from Dover, good for visiting Canterbury centre and Kent).     Our room was a decent size; although we had booked a double room we were given a family room with an extra single bed. There is a generous selection of teas and coffee with biscuits. The bathroom has nice quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The restaurant staff were polite and attentive. I can highly recommend the hotel and its very convenient for a trip to - The place is superb. And would still be at double the price: it's amazingly inexpensive. Character, comfort, calm, good food (offering both "bar" and "restaurant" menus - from the same kitchen - is a smart way of catering for every budget). The staff are really excellent and thoughtful. I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else at Canterbury - or at the channel ports if you are en route to/from there, it's only a minute off the fast road. I certainly won't again.

Beautiful historical town, lots to see and d - The location was fantastic, just opposite the Marlowe theatre and around the corner from the High street. Although it is right in the heart of Canterbury, it was very quiet in the room. The decor is very stylish and the bed very big and comfy. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast excellent. A lovely extra touch was the afternoon tea left for us in case we got peckish.

    Everyone was extremely friendly and more than happy to help. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the City Centre but in dire weather (as was this weekend) taxi's are happy to pick up/drop off. - Only stayed overnight but impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, especially reception when booking in.
