    Staff very friendly and helpful. It was good to be able to sit and have a meal after a long journey. A more comfortable lounge area would have been nice, ie sofa's for us to sit together and relax as a family.     Everyone was extremely friendly and more than happy to help. The Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the City Centre but in dire weather (as was this weekend) taxi's are happy to pick up/drop off. - Only stayed overnight but impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, especially reception when booking in.

    In the first room provided there was a problem with the heated towel room which made it uncomfortably hot in the room , but on request the staff were very helpful in relocating us to another room , which we declined as it was a twin . That resulted in us being upgraded to one of the four posted rooms , which was superb. - A beautiful character prop... what people say » erty, very well located for central Canterbury, with friendly, helpful staff. Having free onsite parking in such a central position was excellent. The room so spacious, but very warm and cosy and a freezing night outside. 10 out of 10, would happily stay again!

    Our room was a decent size; although we had booked a double room we were given a family room with an extra single bed. There is a generous selection of teas and coffee with biscuits. The bathroom has nice quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The restaurant staff were polite and attentive. The breakfast offers a vegetarian full English al... what people say » ternative which suited me nicely. We ate in the garden which is very pleasant. I can highly recommend the hotel and its very convenient for a trip to - The place is superb. And would still be at double the price: it's amazingly inexpensive. Character, comfort, calm, good food (offering both "bar" and "restaurant" menus - from the same kitchen - is a smart way of catering for every budget). The staff are really excellent and thoughtful. I can't imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else at Canterbury - or at the channel ports if you are en route to/from there, it's only a minute off the fast road. I certainly won't again.

    Staff were so welcoming and friendly - couldn't do enough for you. Great idea with the parking permit offered. We checked in and our bags were taken to our rooms while we parked the car and took the short walk back. Fantastic location - literally a stones throw from the beautiful town. Walk to pedestrian area (High Street) at end of the street. Beautifully restored Historical inn. Helpful hostess. Best wifi from room. Good deal on parking, less than 1/2 mile away. Check in first, unload suitcases and hostess will give you specific parking permit to display and location. Easy.

    I booked this hotel because it was cheap and central, and was delighted at the bonus that was a warm, welcoming, quirky hotel (the second-oldest building in Canterbury I was informed) with lovely, friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help. Also bottled wat - You step back into history walking in here - You can feel the atmosphere of an old Hostelry in times gone by - and what a lovely little back terrace to sit and have breakfast or just a coffee. The owners and staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home. Great Breakfast and a wonderful place all round. The walk into Canterbury (and restaurants) was short and the walk to the train station was just 10 minutes -- we pulled our bags with no problem. Very cheerful proprietors.     My partner and I were upgraded and had a wonderful stay in a room with a goregous four poster bed, the bathroom had a lovely jacuzzi bath. The hotel staff were clearly busy but extremely friendly, curteous and welcoming. The hotel restaurant served excellent food and was enjoyed by hotel guests and many locals!     We had a really nice stay. The hotel was traditional in a nice way, excellent breakfasts, a very pleasant restaurant with good food, a comfortable room, and friendly, professional staff.     I arrived very late on Christmas eve.Staff were very kind and helpfull. Love your Hypnos beds very comfy. Will try to always stay with you. - Very clean, all we wanted, including a comfortable bar area. Great service. Car park is very nearby.

    The owners were exceptionally welcoming and were on hand 24hrs to offer advice or recommendations. This is a very hard working family run business. We were allowed to take our dog (for a fee that is comparable with Europe) and the location was perfect for walking as on the doorstep to public bridlepaths.     Sam on reception provided a friendly and very relevant and succinct introduction to the hotel. She very helpfully explained what we needed to know - with supporting pieces of paper for us to take away with us - and provided recommendations which turned out to be spot on. We liked the garden and the swimming pool. We liked our room and our breakfas... what people say » ts. We liked being able, on most occasions, to park our car in the hotel car park. We liked being close enough to be able to walk into Canterbury. We - The swimming pool was great in the hot weather - it's not large but you can have a good swim all the same. Breakfast was really tasty and fresh, and the staff were friendly. The beds were comfortable and the room (I was in a twin)was nicely designed and roomy enough. Robes were provided which was great for using the swimming pool. The gardens were nice too.

    I liked the friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff - I had visited for my mother-in-laws 90th birthday and a few family members met with us for a meal which was excellent - thank you for this as I lost my husband (her son) in Jan. of this year so the ocasion was special as I had not seen her since his death as I live in County Durham.
