  The staff were excellent over my 2 day stay. The food was delicious and good value which isn't always the case for hotels. The rooms were very modern and very clean with walk in showers. The location is spot on for the town centre as its 10 minutes walk max and 5 minutes to the football stadium and train station. Room exceptionally clean and well equipped, 4 poster room delightful. The Auberge is easy to find but its location as a stand alone facility adds to the sense of occassion. ... what people say » There is a quaint thatched roof pub (the four horseshoes) about a mile or so away, well worth the visit. Overall the Auberge restaurant and accommodat - We were welcomed and shown to our room immediately. It was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom with large shower. We ate dinner there. The menu had a good number of mains choices. We chose the guinea fowl breast which we found rather overcooked. However the starter and home made bread made up for this. The house red was mellow and not expensive. The breakfast was generous and enjoyable. The staff were polite and friendly.
