The staff were excellent over my 2 day stay. The food was delicious and good value which isn't always the case for hotels. The rooms were very modern and very clean with walk in showers. The location is spot on for the town centre as its 10 minutes walk max and 5 minutes to the football stadium and train station. Brilliant value for money as I paid £39 per night which was room only. The room was clean and smart. The fact that we could choose and buy films to watch was good.The breakfast choice was excellent and the fact that we could choose how much and what we wanted to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful.
all reviews » the service was first class the staff in the restaurant could not have been more helpfull for blue badge holder you can ask for a parkin space to be held for you....you still have to pay £6 per night blue badgeare not !!!!. All of the staff I came into contact with were wonderful, tabitha the duty manager was great, Sam and olivia from the restaurant and bar. Jen the irish girl, all amazing, oh and charlotte on reception, extremely helpful. Excellent styish budget friendly hotel with bright and spacious rooms. Enjoyed the Hub Bar and Restaurant with its heathly breakfast. This was a first time visit to a Ramada Encore Hotel, a Company that we will use more. Clean and comfortable, we stayed in a twin room which had everything we needed. We ate breakfast (which was extra) one day - it was OK but not good value for money. Nice location - 15-20-mins walk into town. Breakfast has improved considerably since we stayed last year and is now very good with ample choices and extras cooked on request. Hotel is close to rail station and within 15 mins walk into town centre. Reception staff very accommodating,let us into the room a bit early. Room was superb,especially the bathroom. Hotel very near the station and within an easy walk of the town centre. Lovely breakfast too!. The rooms were very clean ,loved the shower room, location was quite good as you could get to trains and the town quite easy. The bar staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The layout and design of the bedrooms was very simple and stylish and the bathroom was lovely and very inviting. Very clean and well maintained. The situation was easy to access via train. It was comfortable and you can obtain food and drink anytime of the day. The weather was very good during our stay and we sat out on the terrace during the morning, it was relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The interior was lovely which made me return that evening even after checking out of the hotel for a relaxing drink in the hotel bar. Location - walking distance of city centre. Nearly all the staff (reception especially) were really helpful and friendly (maybe the girl at breakfast had had a bad night). location to city center also football stadium as we were a visiting football supporter.On the whole we enjoyed our stay but a few issues need to be addressed. Business style hotel, comfortable, new, clean, professional staff. Hotel is walking distance from station, dock area where there are bars and restaurants. The staff were absolutely marvellous - charming, helpful and welcoming. Some of the best hotel staff I have come across in 40 years of staying in hotels. It was very clean,and staff were so friendly,it had a veranda facing the river and lots of seats and tables to take breakfast outside weather permitting. It was reasonably close to where we were going , the location on the river was lovely and close to railway station is a bonus to travel around the area. I liked the 12.00 checkout time - I had a job interview at 1.30 and went for a walk in the morning before returning to change into smarter clothes. Friendly Staff good location. As regular users of the hotel over the past 5 years we have noticed recently a dramatic drop in the standard of the breakfast offering and service. This currently can rather spoil a stay at an otherwise good value hotel. The breakfast service on Sunday 14th April was particularly poor, it was clear in conversation with other guests that many had found the same. This requires urgent management attention if we are to continue to book the Encore Ipswich when visiting for ITFC home games. Parking is a problem due to very limited spaces available at the hotel. If you didn't mind walking a short distance, there is parking at the railway station and it is secured. The drinks at the bar were fairly expensive but saying that, they are the type of prices you would pay at other similar hotels. I know they are easy to clean but laminate flooring in the bedrooms - give me a carpet any day. The breakfast was far from the best.A constant lack of warm food not topped up enough,when the bread was replenished the loaf was still frozen in the middle.Not enough staff to cope with the amount of people.Also the parking at the hotel is an issue if you were an older person the walk to the over flow car park could have been difficult. Parking is a problem but is available in public pay&display 300 yards away. My room had a problem with the wet room which flooded the whole of the bathroom floor. Parking a bit difficult. This hotel is very modern and really for short stay only,the only furniture in the room was a desk bedside table and chair no where to put clothes room only for 20 cars and a charge of £6 per night. I managed to park in car park but with limited spaces dare not move car so had to use taxi which wanted a high night rate at 10.30 pm !. Was very aware of walking around on wooden floor - did not want to sound like baby elephant stomping around... We were lucky to get parked up early. The hotel was really busy because there were Christmas parties going on, so there was a bit of a battle for parking spaces!. Car park not big enough.. Wifi restricted to noisy common area with music always playing. Having to park in a village car park, 5 mins away from the hotel. Although the rooms were good, there was a distinct lack of hanging and storage place for clothes. This was fine for a weekend, but I would have found it difficult if staying longer. It would have been nice to have free WFI in the rooms and also free parking - although these latter two are not really a grouse!!. 1.POOR car parking facilities. 2.It would be a nice touch to have a biscuit with the tea / coffee facilities to match the excellent room standard. Food available was a good bar food range but as a restaurant it was basic. That said wee had no complaints about the food itself. We got a room for handicapped people where some things were installed extremely "low". Did not like the meal we had it was over priced and the refund was not dealt with as it should have been. That it really. Car Park carges, although I accept the difficulty of providing such facilities in a city centre environment, so overall not too bad. Paying to park at the hotel as a guest!!. Tv was not that good when subtitles on as it said that 888 is not working when it is and this announcement keeps blocking the subtitles. The breakfast was expensive and a little disappointing; having to pay for parking on site. Car park was too small for the hotel and the card operated lights were strange - it was either all or no lights. Cost of food and drinks in the hotel were hugely disproproport- ionate to what offsite facilities would charge. My son ordered a Chigargo pizza which was initially undercooked and when sent back came out overcooked and burned: what is hard and expensive about cooking a pizza out of a box!!!!!!!!!!. The extra £30 refundable deposit taken on registration. This marred the stay. We have not had to pay this extra at any other hotel we have ever stayed in and it made us feel like criminals. Nothing!. Small car park with nightly battle to find space Overflow is across river and about 5 minute walk. Our stay was too short. Television set, car park exit blocked by a car due to poor control from hotel staff, I had to wait 45 minutes almost lost my plane at Stanted !. Car park was full so had to park in apublic car park 5 mins walk away and walk back over a footbridge at night with all our luggage.also they swipe your debit card at check in for the room rate plus an extra £30 for damages,and the money takes days to go back in bank.ok but should have been informed at time of booking preferrably.
