  I liked the friendly helpful hosts. I loved the extra finishing touches, such as sherry if you wanted to drink it, fresh flowers in my room, teas of all types, coffee and biscuits on a tray. Margaret and Steve helped me to my room which was luxurious and also brought all my things down when I was running late for my train. The breakfasts were supe... what people say » rb. Thanknyou to the two most marvellous hosts I could found anywhere in my extensive travels. You going the extra mile with customer service and the - Very friendly and warm welcome to the accommodation, and it was nice to receive an email from the guest house prior to arrival asking for any special dietary or arrival requirements. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Hosts are very knowledgable of the local area and happy to help. Food was excellent. Would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a relaxing stay close to York city centre with the Minster being around a 10min walk away.

  Beautiful room;very clean and plenty of space. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast! Perfect location; very quite but only a few minutes walk to the city through the museum gardens. Sherry and mince pies at the front door was a lovely touch around Christmas time. Will definitely be booking back here on another visit to York.   The new managers had just taken over and had many issues to deal with. They made us feel very welcome and accomodated our needs well. The hotel needs some TLC but is comfortable and the rooms were adequate for the price. Overall, a nice place to stay near to the city (15 Min) walk or bus directly outside, generous parking area. - it was very hand... what people say » y for the city, the rooms were clean and comfortable. there was ample free parking . the rates were very good . this is a very basic facility, but I would stay again. there was some road noise but I suspect they are in a conservation area so double glazing is not possible
