Really nice hotel, very old building with history, character and atmosphere. Excellent, friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good and filling, location is quiet, but a short walk from the city centre and castle. We loved the quirky building, the Tudor hotel is fabulous and while this does make the rooms slightly smaller than usual, the uniqueness makes up for it many times over.
My Daughter loved the suits of armour on the gallery, and asked one if he would come home with us!

We loved it all, the friendly staff, who managed to be friendly and informative whilst being professional but not overbearing. This makes guests feel relaxed and not 'on ceremony' . The meal was outstanding, totally fabulous. We so appreciated the extra touch of a special dessert for our newly graduated son. Loved the room, bed was fabulous, decoration. Was just lovely. Plenty of big fluffy towels . Loved loved loved.
