  Everything about it - Reception was warm and friendly - Bar service was tops and reasonably priced. Wine selection was good, attention to detail super, most of all the food was out of this world. Worthy of top chef awards. We thought all the staff paid attention to detail and worked hard to ensure you enjoyed your stay. Excellent - would go agai... what people say » n. - Very friendly staff, very good menu and wine list and good value formoney with the 'Wine and Dine' package. The real ale was available duringour stay. Good location for Oakham town centre and Rutland Water. Willstay longer next time.

  Can't fault the food, good honest home cooked food, extraemly good sized portions and very well cooked, not the usual "fine dining " served up in country inns, which is why we booked up at the pheasent, the mixed grill is a must!! not silly pots with drizzel on the plates but a good well presented dish.. well done!! also beer was very good and wel... what people say » l kept. breakfast was again like the evening meal, superb, set me up for the whole day, did not eat again till near 8pm so thanks again and if we were - Great welcome from assistant manager Ryan. E He has excellent customer service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and comfort wise we experienced twice as much.   Really liked it , what stood out from most hotels was all the staff were young? But the most impressive thing was that these young staff were absolutely superb they had good personality s and were so efficient? 10 out of 10 for the whole team. - We had a fantastic weekend. Our room, number 11, was really nice with doors leading into the garden.... what people say » The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was exceptional.
