    The Whipper-In was a pleasant surprise. The room was incredibly cosy and beautifully decorated with names given not numbers.     The nicest place we have stayed where dogs are truly welcome. Our stay was very relaxing and not over priced and your staff were chatty and very welcoming. We came on a very sunny weekend where we enjoyed drinks in the court yard in the afternoon which was very nicely kept. We even managed to sit out and have our breakfast and read the morning pap... what people say » ers in the sun, very relaxing. As it happened there was no weddings on the weekend we stayed which probably made it a lot quieter than usual. I believ - This hotel never stops amazing me. I can not describe how brilliant the hotel is. We got married at the hotel a few years ago & returned to celebrate our anniversay. The hotel upgraded us to the honeymoon suite without us asking. They greeted us as we checked out and wished us "a happy anniversary" Its service that you rarely see anymore and just makes our memories go on & on. Thank you for treating us as 5* guests and making an amazing stay.

    Everything about it - Reception was warm and friendly - Bar service was tops and reasonably priced. Wine selection was good, attention to detail super, most of all the food was out of this world. Worthy of top chef awards. We thought all the staff paid attention to detail and worked hard to ensure you enjoyed your stay.     Little extras in the rooms - decanter of whserry, fresh fruit etc - makes all the difference. Also very friendly helpful staff - Everything. It is a fantastic hotel with excellent service.

    The location on the banks of Rutland water are unbelievable. I am a regular user of this hotel and like it so much I came back for their Christmas package in 2008; I must say that the staff are always friendly and make you feel at home. The restaruant is one of the best that I have had the opportunity to eat in and it draws me in every time I visit... what people say » the hotel. - top clas service--a really enjoyable stay-excellent spa faciities-will be going again..............

    Can't fault the food, good honest home cooked food, extraemly good sized portions and very well cooked, not the usual "fine dining " served up in country inns, which is why we booked up at the pheasent, the mixed grill is a must!! not silly pots with drizzel on the plates but a good well presented dish.. well done!! also beer was very good and wel... what people say » l kept. breakfast was again like the evening meal, superb, set me up for the whole day, did not eat again till near 8pm so thanks again and if we were - Great welcome from assistant manager Ryan. E He has excellent customer service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and comfort wise we experienced twice as much. For a 10 min drive stay at The Old Pheasant Inn

    Very helpful, smiling, friendly staff. The chefs are fantastic. A very high standard of comfort and we were able to come and go as we pleased and could just sit and read in our comfortable, quiet room if we wished a sofa. The home cooked shortbread was daily replaced - sad for the waistline but absolutely devine for a few days 'chill'.     The family room was an excellent size with a powerful shower and three full size beds. The staff were very friendly. It was in a lovely location a few miles from Oakham. We would definitely return. - Relaxed atmosphere and friendliness of staff, nice food, clean and comfortable bedroom, easy access to local main roads.

    Really liked it , what stood out from most hotels was all the staff were young? But the most impressive thing was that these young staff were absolutely superb they had good personality s and were so efficient? 10 out of 10 for the whole team. - We had a fantastic weekend.     Rooms were as pictured on internet with fabulous views.     Stayed two nights for a family wedding at the castle. The staff were friendly and very kind and helpful. The hotel is in keeping with the age and character of the building, but the showers/bathroom were very clean and modern. We were in the stable block out the back of the main hotel. The room was spacious, quiet and clean, if a little aged. The hotel, bar and restaurant staff were all friendly, efficient and helpful. Ate in the hotel restaurant and the quality was excellent, with very reasonable prices. Breakfast was cooked to order.

    The White Swan is a lovely little establishment in a quiet village. The surrounding area is lovely, the staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional, even a table booked for dinner.     High standard of service from everyone. The lack of formality and appreciation that we were straying there. Quality and variety of food was excellent from breakfast through afternoon tea and dinner. Our existing familiarity with the menus was one of the main reasons for staying. Room was comfortable and well serviced.
