Really liked it , what stood out from most hotels was all the staff were young? But the most impressive thing was that these young staff were absolutely superb they had good personality s and were so efficient? 10 out of 10 for the whole team. We had a fantastic weekend. Our room, number 11, was really nice with doors leading into the garden. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was exceptional.

The friendly and efficient YOUNG staff-all very good. The restaurant cuisine was superb and the location. The village of Lydington was picture perfect. Breakfast was a real treat and the staff were good enough to find us a table even though the restaurant was full on the Saturday night. Lovely fresh, comfortable rooms in a great location. Fabulous restaurant too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the hotel was in a lovely quiet area. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. Clean room with everything we needed. Breakfasts very good, evening meals good. Bathroom very well furnished with plenty of shelf space for soapbags, toiletries etc. Staff very friendly. There was only one member of staff serving Sunday breakfast. He did a great job but they need more staff serving. Nothing, I cannot find fault. The TV in the room would have been a bit small for some people--also we found the duvet somewhat warm even in May--maybe a sheet alternative could have been available--neither a major issue for us. The weather - but I imagine the skills of the staff don't quite stretch that far!. The only fault really was that we were on the ground floor near the car park, so it was a little noisy at the weekend around 11.30pm. nothing!. Room was too hot and did not cool down much with windows open. Used a fan provided but that is noisy for sleeping!. Bed too narrow felt every time you turned over you were about to fall out the bed (Room 15). Also no toilet roll holder in bathroom, toilet roll placed on toilet brush holder which wasn't very good!. nothing. Noise from corridor, heard every voice and person passing in corridor. Door seals don't seal allowing noise to pass feely. Light passing under door into room due to same reason. Marmalade not on offer at breakfast. The walls in the new block are very thin which means you are forced to be awake with the earliest riser as they use the bath or shower in their room. It was a very cold day and our room was on the end. The bathroom was freezing at all times, the radiator is not sufficient for the room and the extractor fan goes straight to the outside, so there is a draft. my room was rather noisy and I have asked to be upstairs on my next visit as I could hear the other guests a bit too clearly!. A little noisy we heard people talking in another room nearby from 6am which woke us up. Room 5 a hot pipe which could not be switched off and the shower cubicle that leaked water everywhere. Room 2 has the very noisy central heating boiler which kept us awake. The cooked breakfasts were poor. Bedroom No.4 was quite inadequate in terms of comfort space and facilities which the staff recognised and I had to reluctantly ask them to find us accommodation elsewhere, which they did. Room was far too hot which meant a poor night's sleep and no way of turning it down. Room was next to car park so bit noisy in the morning. There was no window in our room, only a door leading outside to the gardens, so we couldn't open a window at night. This made the room uncomfortably hot. We asked twice for a second set of towels as only one was provided, we were not given an extra set and had to borrow from a friend in a single room who had a spare set. No chair in bedroom, only one hand towel on first day for two people.No hot water in bathroom on 2 (out of 4)evenings until mentioned, bedroom too hot and no ventilation (sealed window pane). Crumbs found under displayed magazines. Small clothes rail was obscured on three and a half sides and we had to twist our bodies to be able to squeeze anything onto it. The first two of these items were rectified on day 2.
