The owners were prepared to drive me to a conference if there wasn't a bus. This is an establishment that goes out of its way to make your stay comfortable.

  I highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, wonderful choice and quality of breakfasts. The owner, told me he used to own a fish restaurant so that's obviously why the fish dishes are so perfect. Modern, bright up to date bedroom with a fabulous power shower. Safe and easy walk to both Windermere and Bowness. Food was unbelievable. Huge choice and excellent quality. Dining room is modern and there was a good atmosphere at breakfast time. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.

  We found the hotel to be lovely and comfortable and very tastefully decorated and had a very warm welcome on arrival. The breakfast was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome!   All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival.   We liked everything! The suites are perfect, with lovely appointments. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It's very very clean. It's close to everything at Waterhead and only a mile from Ambleside, with good bus service to everywhere in the Lake District.   We had a very warm at the hotel on arrival and throughout our stay. The food we had on our first evening there was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was also to a very high standard of comfort. - Comfortable clean accomadation.

I do agree that the rooms are a little warm and the windows don't really open, but other than that we had a comfortable stay.
