We found the hotel to be lovely and comfortable and very tastefully decorated and had a very warm welcome on arrival. The breakfast was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome! A home from home! we shall certainly return! Highly recommended!. The couple who run the guest house were so lovely and very welcoming. Iwould definatly consider going there again. It soon became very obvious that Brian and Mandy took great pride and care in what they did and their home is a credit to them. They are fabulous hosts who serve up "one mean breakfast". We will be seeing them again. Friendly staff, comfortable accomodation. Room was lovely. Walkingdistance to town. Lovely breakfast. No complaint at all. Woulddefinately use this hotel again if in the lake district. Everything, the staff were lovely and could not be more helpfull and theroom was so comfortable. Will definatley be staying there again. - Then follow the A6 to Penrith.
- At the Peugeot garage, take the first left on the mini roundabout and drive under the railway bridge.
- You are now on Shap Road: carry on.
- Balcony house is on the right, just before the pedestrian lights.
From the North:
- Take junction 39.
- Follow signs for Kendal (15 miles).
- On entering Kendal, Balcony House is on the left after the school playing fields and immediately after the pedestrian crossing.
