My room had a hair dryer full length mirror on double wardrobe door tea and coffee making facilities an fully equipped bathroom with complimentary toiletries and fresh towels daily. There was also a guide book with all local attractions and information.     The view of the harbour from my room. The hotel was central - very near rail and ferry links. The accommodation was compact and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, but unobtrusive - a homely hotel with a pleasant pub / bar. - the hospitallity was excellent from staff and there local clientell.....nothing was any bother to them ,,,to... what people say » ensure your comfort....and the food was freshly cooked everytime which i really enjoyed......will be returning soon

    friendly and efficient, pleasant stay - although the hotel is a big old place the rooms were extremely clean the beds very comfortable, we didnt get a chance to eat breakfast as we awere leaving on the 6.15 ferry but was offered continental breakfast instead. excellent value for money and I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again

    Overall very good, enjoyed our two night stay there with our son and his friend, 19 and 20 years. We were in Dunoon to do activiities ie, speed boat one day and quadbiking. Ideal base, the hotels own menu very reasonable, only used it one night and were very happy. Would recommend this hotel and would do again. lovely sea views for us. - The staff member we met was friendly, the food was lovely and great sized portions; we had booked for my partners birthday and the hotel had given us a free bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday. It was in a cooler in the room when we arrived, all in all it was an excellent hotel and night away.

Nicely, restored large house across from Oban bay, just far enough out of town to be walkable and quiet at same time. Beautiful views of Kerrera and sunset.     Raniven is a first class guest house. We had a room on the top floor. It was quiet and very comfortable with two easy chairs - a real treat! There was room to move about in the bathroom and the shower was excellent. Continental breakfast was superb with a good choice. Bacon and scrambled egg was also an option.     Very comfortable nicely furnished family suite with great beds. Suited our family of 4 with kids 6 & 8 as we had own sitting room space in evening. Suite has amazing views of the sea/port, and located away from noise of main town, but only a short walk along the promenade to get to shops, port for ferries and seafood restaurants.     Fiona was so so kind and helpful--we were a bit late checking in because we missed a train, and she responded immediately to my email and was very understanding! The guest house was comfortable, clean, and conveniently located up Jacob's Ladder. We had a great time in Oban and in Tobermory and would definitely recommend. We didn't run into any problems! - Fiona made us feel very welcome right from the start. Room was lovely,very comfortable ,even had chocolates on the bed! Great value for money and Fiona was so informative about Oban and surrounding areas.Good fish restaurant ee-usk, it's a must.
