Room was very modern, heated bathroom floor and the best shower I've ever been in. Clearly renovated recently. Restaurants were good, great breakfast (overlooking the ocean) and dinner. Friendly enough staff. Little expensive but not overpriced. Would stay here again.

THE cleanest rooms I have seen in my 30+ years of travelling (and that includes staying frequently in 5 star hotels). Very friendly owners and staff. Extremely nice breakfasts.   I was bowled over by the friendliness and team-spirited nature of ALL of the staff I met - and also by their constant willingness to assist. Moreover, everyone was particularly welcoming to my two children (boys aged 14 and 11); which always makes a real difference to the holiday experience. All in all, I wished I - I originally picked the Hotel California because I liked the name, wanted to stay in Newquay and the price is a good value. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Interiors are beautiful. The dining room had lots of windows, so you can enjoy the scenery while dining. Beautiful view of the bay from the outside deck. The outdoor pool looked inviting, but the temperature was little to cool for me to try it. If I get a chance to go back to the U.K., I will definitely stay at the Hotel California

  My girlfriend and I had a superb 3 night day despite the poor weather! Glen the owner made us feel most welcome and he also cooks a fantastic breakfast! The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I have to say I find it hard to pick a fault with this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. All in all a great place to stay. - glen the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. the breakfast was excellent from a full English with cereal and toast to any combination, nothing was too much trouble. our room was a small double with an en-suite, it was adequate for our needs. Glen changed the towels and cleaned our room daily.

  Very good position a few doors away from the Main Street and easy walking to the various beaches. Mick was extremely amiable and welcoming. The room was a good size but the ensuite was tiny. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom as there was no room in the ensuite. Breakfast was terrific. - Our room was clean and comfortable with very good facilit... what people say » ies. The on suite, although compact was more than adequate. Breakfast was listed as 09:00 to 09:30 but could be arranged earlier if required. Parking at £3 a day was a bargain. We would use this B & B again.
