The Headland Hotel is a 10-minute walk from Newquay centre. The impressive leisure facilities include indoor and outdoor swimming pools (outdoor pool only open during summer months). The spa includes a Cornish salt steam room, a Swedish sauna, a hot tub, and aromatherapy showers. Treatments by Elemis, Thalgo and OPI can be booked in the state-of-the-art ash wood panelled rooms or work out in the fully equipped Life Fitness gym. There are two restaurants, and the hotel has been awarded an AA rosette. Guests can enjoy fresh local seafood in the formal candlelit restaurant or in the more relaxed Terrace which features an outdoor veranda with stunning beach views. Afternoon teas and Cornish breakfasts are available, and the bar offers cocktails and fine wines. The spacious 4-star bedrooms at The Headland have free Wi-Fi access and satellite TV. All rooms feature a cosy seating area, work desk and a modern bathroom with waffle robes and free toiletries. The location, high on the headland within a couple of strides of the beach, fashion & surf shops and cafes. The staff are friendly and efficient. The spa is just what one expects from a brand new facility, although the pool could be larger for the serious swimmer. There is an outside pool which looks good although we did not test it. The hotel is very close to the town and harbour all of which are very worth while visiting. All in all we had a VERY relaxing and enjoyable stay, we will certa.
all reviews » Awesome historic building overlooking the sea but don't be put off. Room was very modern, heated bathroom floor and the best shower I've ever been in. Clearly renovated recently. Restaurants were good, great breakfast (overlooking the ocean) and dinner. Friendly enough staff. Little expensive but not overpriced. Would stay here again. Had a marvellous stay, the staff were excellent , the rooms are beautiful with good solid build, no noise from neighbours, excellent sea views and the best beach in Cornwall on your doorstep, can't praise it enough, oh and the food was excellent too. I liked the welcoming feeling nothing was to much trouble for the staff the hotel itself is beautiful and the proximity to the beach and coastal walks excellent. how welcoming everyone was to our dogs. My son treated us to a one night stay at the Headland for my birthday - I have always wanted to stay there and it did not disappoint in any way. I would definitely recommend the Headland to anyone. The hotel is a haven of luxury in a busy surfing resort. Although not a cheap holiday there is so much included in the hotel - spa- tennis-pitch and put - pool that it works out good value. Very comfortable rooms, stupendous view of the North Atlantic. Superb breakfast. Good food, though limited menu in the veranda restaurant. The food was amazing and the piano music on CD playing during meal time was so relaxing and set a very nice tone. The hotel is stunning. the staff were so proud of the Hotel and so efficient in all the workings of the Hotel. The staff made the Hotel feel like Home. Not a 'did not like' but we were somewhat confused by 'housekeeping' which, in our case, did not replace the box of tissues located in the bathroom, simply added three / four tissues to the empty box !. Just feels a little remote...some people may love this though!. Nothing at all. nothing not to like ! this was our second visit. nothing really!. The free WiFi connections are a bit shaky, particularly when the hotel is full and many guests are logged in. The bed matress was far so soft/knackered. The seaguls made a racket every morning. the leisure facilties are very small for the size of the hotel. On day 2 the jacuzzi was broke and on the third day the indoor pool was freezing nobody would go in. Minor faults though. Could do with black out blinds behind the curtains, but that is me being fussy! Most people probably are not bother by the early morning light. Newquay is a dreadful chavvy town, run down and fuelled by alcohol. Car parking space at the hotel was a problem due to all the building work going on. I didn't like the unexpected deposit that we were unaware of until arrival. Nothing was shown to dislike. Price! Rooms were "ok" priced for the location and facilities, but bar and food prices very high. It's a family hotel, for families specifically traveling to the hotel it's too pricey. The bed - very uncomfortable; we have stayed here before and felt the service wasn't quite the same standard; on three occasions our meals were late or hadn't been facilitated by the kitchen staff - longest wait was nearly 40 minutes!!. The room shower at the Headland Hotel was NEVER constant with temperature. It went from very cold, to very hot, then pleasant, then started all over again and continued to do so for the whole shower - for both my husband and myself. Too many dogs!. Nothing. the weather for one day. nothing. Very slow internet. a bit hot in summer due no air-conditioner. We thought for £209 the room we had could have been better it was completly different to the picture you get shown when booking ie size ect so we were left a little disappointed and the windows were quite dirty. nothing to dislike. The very small menu in the Terrace, why not add the room service menu to it? Children's playroom had disappeared. Nothing. The spa being closed. The shower wasnt very good not enough power. The room we stayed a bit dated. Service was patchy, lots of helpful staff, but not managed properly. Generally the service was slow, un- cordinated and not very good. But hotel very busy so some delays understood. Dog fleas ! several bits to the leg and arms, small price to pay,to stay in such a loverly hotel.Why do people want to take their dog to a hotel ?? Doctor sorted the problem with some cream. Newquay town has become very rough but the sea is still fab. lunches a bit pricey for the amount you got. a little pricey but special location. Not sure how the seating next to the windows works. Building works obviously bit of an eyesore. Would prefer breakfast not pre-cooked. Lack of lighting on the hotel approach road. We found it very difficult when returning from a walk after dark. Building work. Great hotel, Newquay not a good place. Could have done with some whole fresh fruit - apples etc at breakfast. Nothing, but did find it a bit surreal all the dogs in the hotel. Not a problem for me, but would be if you didn't like dogs !!.
