Rooms were very comfortable and clean; I was a little nervous upon arriving and seeing how old the place is, but it became very clear that they are constantly upgrading (brand new Kohler bathroom fixtures) - nothing is too old or outdated. And the location is great.

soccer balls, the leisure room in the loft, the design - from the metal
dog to the wall of convicts - all perfect. The staff was friendly,
knowledgable, and enthusiastic about their hotel. Their location is
perfect - close enough to Union Square to enjoy the nightlife, but far
enough away to avoid the noise; the bart is half a block away and
provides access to the entire city. I highly recommend this hotel.

We appreciate their great service and friendly staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable -- great pillows! We and many others enjoyed the wine that was served every evening in the lobby between 5:00 - 6:00 PM. For the price it had everything I expected and more. While small the spa area and exercise area were superior and the staff GREAT. I just wish it opened earlier than 9 am. The staff was very good as was the business center ( small but adequate). I would stay t here again and would recommend it to others.

Overall a very pleasant stay with close proximity to shops and public transport. Gliezl at the front desk was amazing and moved us to a quiet floor after moving twice due to the thinness of the walls. She was professional, friendly and efficient and made sure we got a room without an interleding door as well as a breathtaking bay view!
