San Diego Hotels

We're just up the freeway from Orange county and we visit San Diego about once every 4 months or so and make it a point to stay at the St James. We love it. Its a great piece of history (had the fastest elevators in the country in its heyday! ....not so much any more :)) but still a great experience. sure the elevators have crazy old doors and are slow and a bit scary (but perfectly safe). The rooms are a bit small but how much are you really going to be in there anyway? our favorite thing is to - Martin

I was with a small group of women consisting of 5 double rooms & 2 suites. The rooms were in the towers each overlooking a nice pool. The rooms were clean. I don't care about the decor since I'm not buying the place. Beautiful gift baskets were left by management in our rooms. We all used the spa Saturday morning for massages. This is a top rate spa & I'm from NYC so I compare this to the finest spas in NY. We went in the large jacuzzi, steam & saunas. They had plush robes for us &am - Emma

We had researched this place prior to arrival, and it duly lived up to expectations. Our cruise ended in San Diego, and we called the hotel at 9.00am asking if they could pick us up from the cruise ship terminal. The complimentary shuttle duly arrived about 10 minutes later, and drove us the short distance to the hotel. Although check-in time is officially 3.00pm, we were told our room was ready and were allowed to access the room (no extra charge). Nice big room on the 8th floor, with coffe - Walter

we stayed for 5 nights in nov 09 had a most welcolm reception from the girl on the desk hotel location is good for everything we needed, a short walk from the hotel is a mall which you can access without going near the main highway and there you can for 5 dollars all day ride the trolleybus to any place The men on the desk booked us tickets for the zoo and seaworld and the city tour at reduced rates and provided a free shuttle to anywhere we asked . We live in San Diego and sometimes we enjoy an over night stay on the beautiful San Diego Bay. We have stayed at this resort a few years ago but they now have new rooms overlooking the bay. Do stay in the Premium Bayside Rooms. A very large room with a pull out couch, desk, flat screen TV and most of all a large granite tile bathroom. The room also had a microwave, small refrigerator and a wet bar. We especially loved the comfort of the pillowtop kingsized bed, that we ordered one from Sears wh - Colin

Arrived in San Diego at 11am. We decided to just drop off our luggage at the hotel, since it was to early to check in, and explore. Well imagine our surprise, when we were allowed to check in early! After the long flight, we really needed to clean up so this was a welcomed surprise. We were given a room on the top floor (7) and found the room to be perfect for what we needed. great vacation. we went with 2 adult children. We got 2 rooms (710 and 704). both were very spaciious although stuios. 704 had a living room/sofa couch). Really wonderful location. We went all over San Diego county from this place from Oceanside to the Mexican border via public transportation. If you are 60+ you can get month pass for $18 which covers bus and trolley. Very few places are not reachable. We went to Olympic Training Center in Eastlake and had to take taxi once but that's it. Merry - Alexander

This hotel was absolutely perfect for my trip. First, I had a wedding to attend to in Mission Bay, so the location was perfect because it wasn't too far. The hotel was located in a quiet area along the bay in the Shelter Island Area. It was quiet, beautiful, and relaxing all in one. Dennis Vinegas, an employee there, set the reservation for the room for me. He set me up with the perfect room with an awesome view (Many thanks to Dennis!).
