I will certainly come back. - I was recently at this hotel in February 2013, during the renovations and to come back to see all they accomplished by November 2013 was fantastic. I love the decor, the staff is first class and everyone MUST eat or at least drop in for cocktails on the 11th floor at CUSP. The bartender "Chris" is a gem and the waitstaff is fine dining to the max. - Really nice, centrally located and 5 mins walk from La Jolla beach and nice restaurants like Piatti. Great for couples as the rooftop bar/restaurant has great views and the poolside bar is great with fire pits etc. Bikes on loan and scooters for kids. Lovely heated outdoor pool. We stayed in garden level but I'd recommend upper level sea view rooms.

There was always a cab there if it was needed. Complimentary shuttle is also available at all times. - I liked the fact that it was a city-feeling hotel, old school with modern touches. The hotel was on the hilly part of downtown San Diego, overlooking the City itself with a distant view of the Harbor; along with a walkway extending outward with table and chairs for outside sitting to catch the incredible breeze. I liked the personal touch of a "sail boat" greeting card, which everyone signed, placed in the hotel room.
