People always come first so it was the Staff that were the most important in making my stay Exceptional. Having Spoken to all the staff from the Doormen, Reception Team, Maids, Sales Manager, Sales Director the GM and Even the CEO who made an appearance in the opening week, i congratulated him on assembling such a fine Team of People that were totally in Sync with each other, Great energy and Mannerism and most welcoming, a real delight to have being in the company of such Fine Folk ! all reviews » There was nothing that I did not like. The two-story Plinko board with soccer balls, the leisure room in the loft, the design - from the metal dog to the wall of convicts - all perfect. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and enthusiastic about their hotel. Their location is perfect - close enough to Union Square to enjoy the nightlife, but far enough away to avoid the noise; the bart is half a block away and provides access to the entire city. I highly recommend this hotel. Really good experience! Very nice service and very nice people. The bar is spectacular and the rooms are ultra stylish. The location is incredible and is well known for almost all the taxi drivers arround. We were in our honneymoon and they gave to us a nice bottle of french wine, bottled water and fine chocolates. We will come back as soon as possible. Loved the room size and accommodations. Staff was super customer focused. Had opened only three weeks so there were minor glitches quickly resolved. Design and facilities were great, loved the play room, where you can play pool, shuffleboard or some table games, or simply relax and work a little and not sit in the hotel room. I had an issue with payment, where my card first was blocked with a number of transactions, then I was charged for two rooms (mine and my colleague), while we wanted to pay separately. Reverse payment was arranged, but since my card is not in usd, I lost quite a bit of money on currency exchange charges. Hotel staff was not really helpful or friendly in the beginning, when I tried to find out what's happening with payments, but they sorted it out in the end, so fair is fair. nothing really, if I do complaint just one thingm that about amenity. no amenity. just...soap, shampoo and conditioner. Bar wasn't open, no room service, air didn't work in our room first night it was 80 degrees,. A lot of noise from the hallway gets into the room. Could be a problem if you sleep lightly. Nothing to complain. Abit pricey at $450/ night but if you could get a good deal at around $200 grab it!. The lack of breakfast-included packages. Nothing .. The communication regarding hotel policies for extra beds was not clear, so we booked the wrong room for our family. In the end, it was sorted which we appreciated. 50 dollars a day for parking rooms small but then it is a city hotel. Nothing!!. I didn't have any dislikes of the hotel. I hope the price doesn't change. I found the staff to be unfriendly which I think that they have a limited number of staff. The staff at the front desk where too snobbish. I have to point out that the hotel is a very new hotel which has a lot of problems like in my room the AC was making a terrible noise. The maintenance guy came and checked it out and said that there could be dirt in the pipes which is making the AC to overwork. needed a mirror in our room. Not sure if prisoners make a good wall decoration ??? Just my feeling. If booking a standard room through letsbookhotel.com beware that you might get a room doesn't have any view and no sunlight due to a building blocking the light. Thankfully, we were moved to a much larger, nicer room when we told the staff that we would like a room with more sunlight. I did not like having my pre-paid reservation changed. I was not given an explanation and it made me feel like my business was not as important. The cost of the items in the bar (in the room) were a bit pricey. The list of items available for room service (meals etc.) were a bit limited. 1) Noisy A/C Unit 2) Lack of hooks in bathroom on which to hang towels (only one in the bathroom we had). Bar should be open longer - it is such a fabulous bar!. -- No dressers in the room -- Neighborhood does not seem safe for walking around at night (we saw many police cars and people arguing on the streets after 9pm) -- Hotel lobby bar doesnt open until 4pm on weekdays. Did not like the fact that there was no restaurant on premises. Bar closed early at 10.30 pm. Room slightly smelly as if in the past it was a smoking room. Windows couldnt open. Airco loud. Room wasn't cleaned either day of our trip. Had to call very late each day to get housekeeping. When they came, it was a perfunctory cleaning and didn't replace glassware etc. The noise of the trash collection early Friday am. Our room was facing the alley and the noise could wake the dead. The public washroom in ground floor lacks privacy due to see-thru divider separating men's & women's washrooms. Room was quite small and dark as it was facing a wall so we complained and got upgraded and got moved to a supreme room which was more spacious and bright. The wifi kept cutting off and we only had 1 free coffee a day and no free water. No security at the elevators - anybody can walk in and access the elevators and any floor of the hotel. N/A. Front Desk Staff Lack of Follow Through Lack of Knowledge Difficulty to flag Taxi down by Door Staff. That I couldn't stay longer to take more advantage of their game room. Like all downtown San Francisco hotels - pricey. Charges for the coffee in the room...at 250.00 a night you can't provide a cup of coffee?. lack of buffet for breakfast. The room service was quite limited in terms of the menu and it was not available 24/7. Air conditioner was noisy.
