The Crown is in an excellent position in this lovely little city: right on the market square (some noise in the early mornings twice a week but the hotel provides ear plugs and the farmers' market is excellent) opposite the cathedral and bishop's palace. You can walk straight out onto the cobbled streets of the high street or walk around the peace

rooms were high end, everything else was pretty awful. The Crown is a
complete ray of sunshine by comparison - really delicious food (and
phenomenally good value if you eat an evening meal between 6 - 7pm -
only 13 quid for three courses of fabulous home cooked restaurant grade

We had a lovely room in the historic gatehouse. It was up steep stone stairs but that added to the charm. We loved the historic value and the views from the room. - Convinient location, good price, friendly staff.

I liked the newness-feeling and elegance of Room 6. The breakfast was exceptionally good - with plenty of variey and all food being of a high quality, cooked and presented well.
