The manager, Chris Gilbert, was excellent. Great customer service, very friendly and remembered why we were staying there. His staff member on duty when we arrived was very good too sorting out food vouchers for the roadchef and other queries we had about the room. -

We stayed in the wonderful log cabin (superior double) in the garden.
Ideal location for the Three counties showground. Friendly hosts who
provided superb breakfasts. The pub in the village gives you 10%
discount on food if you are staying here (tues night £10 mixed
grill/weds night is pie night) & its excellent food too with a
lovely landlady (Sue). We would recommend Henwick as an ideal place to
stay if you wanted a luxurious getaway & restful break. We will go
back there again.

It is very quirky- we stayed in the soon to be renovated part. What a shame, this is vintage 70s and should be separately preserved. We were first offered a modernized room in the "chateau", but while very nice, this was quite generic like all other hotel rooms now seem to be. We had drinks in the grounds, very Downton Abbey. Staff efficient and friendly, breakfast ample.

The owners were really accommodating - didn't mind the fact that I have a large dog and allowed him into the bedroom so that I didn't have to leave him downstairs. The accommodation is ideal for dog owners as there is little traffic to worry about, large open fields to the back of the property and a dog friendly environment which is clean and convenient.

Hotel lounge and restaurant has been refurbished and they are completing the last floor of rooms shortly. We stayed in one of the classic rooms not yet refurbished, but was still very pleasant.
