    The food was good & value for money, the room was excellent with the shower taking top billing from both of us. All the staff were attentive to your needs & requests, nothing was to much trouble for them. Overall it was a vey good week end, I will have no problem recommending the Bowes Incline to my friends - The restaurant was excellent... what people say » - large range of dishes to choose from. All well presented and good size portions. The Breakfast menu was also good with a wide range of choices and again well presented. The staff were really helpful. The rooms were of a good standard. We thought this was good value for money.

    I loved everything about the guest house. The place smells lovely, beautifully designed, the room was tidy and clean, the towels smell nice and clean. The breakfast was beautiful, the proprietor was very helpful and friendly. Good location, easy access to shops, beach, train and bus station. Overall i give the hotel 10/10.     It was very good for what we needed, which was a good rest, with pleasant local restaurants for evening meals.. We were there during the exceptionally bad weather the last weekend but one in March, and the fact that it was pretty isolated down a deep narrow lane gave rise to concerns ( unfounded as it turned out) that there was the possibility of... what people say » adverse weather trapping us there or preventing our return after a day out. Because the weather was so cold we often returned early with a picnic tea - The location was an absolute delight with fantastic views. The accommodation was far beyond my expectations and was 5* quality, and totally luxurious. Breakfast in the farmhouse dining room was to a very high standard. I would have no reservations about recommending Riding Farm to every one

    Absolutely fantastic!! Will definitely be returning. Booked up with 3 other friends for a girls weekend and could not fault this hotel at all. Fantastic staff on reception who were always happy to advise where to go for a night out, 2 minute walk from the train station and within walking distance to bars and 'the gate'.     We could not fault the hotel.The Management and Staff looked after us,and nothing was too much trouble.Courteous and friendly on all occasions.The accomadation,in a single storey extension,was excellent.It was both cosy and quiet. - The room was very warm, but didnt matter as the weather was cold.     The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower room clean. The breakfast was good and I just want to say a big thank-you to Cathy in the kitchen who made me a sausage sandwich, as I only had time for cereal and toast the second day and was in a rush, so didn't have time to stay for full English breakfast.     Rooms were very clean and very spacious, even though it was a shared bathroom and shower room they were cleaned to a high standard and very modern. The Manager was a great host and made us feel very welcome. The bar staff were great and very helpful.     Have always liked the location of the hotel and have stayed there several times before, but this was the first time in the Lodge. The room was really nice with plenty of space considering it had a double & 3 single beds. The staff were friendly and very helpful especially on our arrival at about 10pm when we found there was no electricity in... what people say » our room. This was sorted in about 15 minutes. - Stayed here as a bit of a trip down memory lane and it didn't disappoint!! Rooms extremely clean and staff couldn't have been more helpful, thanks for making our stay so good. Beach front location and restaurant underneath delicious, and the bar in the hotel good fun at the end of the night. Would deffo stay here again :)

    My friend and myself were going to a funeral in Sunderland we got lost and phoned the owner and she came to pick us up in her car and she let us leave our cases at the house and gave us a room to change in to save us taking our cases to the cremetorium before we travelled back to Scotland.I would highly recommend staying there for value and friend... what people say » lyness If I am ever in that area again with myself and my wife I would definately stay at the Mowbray guest hose again - Mowbray Guest has a bright appearance with a lovely selection of 'artwork' to add colour and interest. It occupies a peaceful, location save the sea-gulls. Alison, and Keith at the weekends, are engaging generous hosts who put their guests first. They serve a really good breakfast and the facilities in the whole house functioned well. We'll certainly go back if in Sunderland again and recommend it as great value for money.
