  We were impressed by our first view of this hotel. Much better than expected as was Lowestoft itself. Car park just over the road from the hotel entrance. Easily accessed lift just by reception and very few steps for disabled persons like myself. The strength of this hotel lies with the excellence of all members of staff we were in contact with.   As ever the location is absolutely brilliant. Pleasant staff providing a good service. As regular visitors we appreciated the efforts made to deal with the weekend breakfast issue when the hotel is full with wedding guests - by advising of the best time and warning that there might be delays. so on the Sunday morning we took a stroll into Sudbury... what people say » & had a very nice breakfast in a coffee bar. - A pleasant day for our stay so enjoyed a good cream tea on the balcony followed by Pimms (it was a surprise 70th). Later drinks in the bar seated on comfy chairs / sofa followed by an extremely good meal and breakfast the following morning.

  I really enjoyed my one night break here. When I arrived, all reception staff were occupied but my presence was acknowledged and I was checked in efficiently. My room was on the top floor, small but a nice size for a single and everything was clean. The pool area is not too glamorous but the pool is a very nice size for swimming and a good temperature. As were the steam and saun - I stayed here for business. The room was clean and tidy, nice little biscuits with tea/coffee etc. Yes the hotel is slightly tired, but in a quaint way, felt very homely and personal, much like the staff, very helpful and polite. The broadband is quite limiting, many words are banned. even sensible ones that I needed for work, but not a real issue. Breakfast was excellent & service quick and friendly, a good choice of hot & cold. Yes there is housing around the hotel, but if you want so
