    This is a superb B&B. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Pleasantly decorated and the rooms are extremely comfortable with everything you need for a good nights sleep. The couple who run the B&B are very welcoming and do everything they can to make you feel at home. The home cooked breakfast is delicious. Not only is it very well cooked... what people say » , all of the ingredients are local. You CAN taste the difference. The freshness of it all is simply mouthwatering. - I stayed in the single room for one night. It was very clean and more than sufficed my needs. Bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, cold cereals and fruit followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts.

    Ferndale Lodge had everything we needed for a good price. We stayed in their 'small double' room and it is definitely small! But it had a compact ensuite bath and wonderful views. We weren't missing anything. Breakfasts were tasty and generous - a good selection of yogurts, fruit, cereals and full English breakfast fare. The staff were friendly and attentive and the accommodation was all around very comfortable - Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights, 27th and 28th July. Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.

    Very nice B&B just a few minutes outside the centre of Keswick. We had a nice room, on the first floor, with all comfort necessary for some beautiful days. The owner is a very friendly person, giving all the info needed to spent some days in and around Keswick. Not only regarding walks but also regarding tearoom, pubs,... He takes also care of... what people say » your wet clothes (rain, falling into a river,...) to get them dry. Great typical English breakfast ! If you're looking for a B&B in Keswick, than - Everything about the guest house indicated a concern to serve the residents to a high standard. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nicely prepared with plenty of main course choice. The owners were friendly without being intrusive. The view from the rear landing stairs, if you are on one of the upper floors, of Latrigg, Skiddaw & Blencathra make a great start and finish to each day. And it's only a quarter mile gentle downhill stroll into the centre of Keswick. Five star

    Alison was very welcoming and helpful. Just having had a foot operation she was keen to provide any help needed. The room was quiet and the bed large and comfortable. The en-suite had everything needed, with a good shower & hot water. The whole place was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and not greasy. The permit for nearby... what people say » free parking is an added bonus. - A very warm, clean and well equipped room. We brought our 'well-behaved' spaniel who loved the guesthouse and our host. The cooked breakfast was excellant. We were warmly welcomed, well fed and very well look after during our stay. We loved it! And excellant value for money as well.

    Brendan Chase is conveniently placed and just a half-hour walk to Lake Windermere. David, the owner who greeted us, was extremely helpful when we first arrived drawing a map for us and pointing out places of local interest and some picturesque walks we might have missed otherwise.     The owner was very friendly and gave us a genuine welcome. On both mornings we were served lovely hot breakfasts. In addition we all appreciated all the toiletries which were provided. The owner alliso explained to us shortest walk into town and gave us number of taxi firm to use.     Tina made myself and my fellow traveller (in a separate room) very welcome and we could have been staying with good, friendly relatives. She prepares a very sound, tasty custom-made breakfast at any of several times one can designate on the supplied slip each day. We both came away very satisfied with our stay. - Property is quaint and in a delightful setting, breakfast was very good and tasty, loved the chickens and Drakeshead Labradors and there was lashing of hot water. Tina our host made us very welcome in every way, she couldn't do enough for us. Tina even offered to make a surprise birthday cake for my fiance and it was there in our room when we arrived. This was actually the second cake as the chickens had sneaked into her kitchen and ate the first one!!

    Extremely comfortable, quiet and spotless clean accommodation. The single room with the bathroom was just amazing, warm, cosy and the perfect place to go back after a long walk.     Spacious Room. Fantastic views of the mountains. Quiet and handy location for the village. Lovely hosts.
