    The location of the Hotel is fantastic. In the middle of nowhere! The history about the Hotel is fascinating. All the facilities the Hotel offered are first rate. The staff are excellent, the food gorgeous and the rooms very clean and tidy.     The hotel was in an ideal location in Windermere. We have just purchased a boat at the marina, and this was ideal for us. The hotel was excellent, food excellent, facilities excellent, and staff extremely helpful.     The manager Tony was fantastic. He made us feel very welcome and was freindly.Natalier was also freindly and welcoming.The food that the head chief Sally prepared was excellent it was cooked fresh and served piping hot. Everyone made us feel so welcome as though we had been go - As a cycling group, several of us arrived late but they kept the kitchen open late to feed us which really was appreciated.     Roz and Garry made my husband and I feel very welcome.The break was to celebrate my 50th birthday,we couldn't have chosen a better place.The hotel was very clean,bed was comfortable and the breakfast was amazing,good value for money.We will go back again . - They are very friendly and you will be really enjoy to stay in this guest house.

    We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful. Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover. Self catering provision was excellent. Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games). Loved my stay.

    Very quiet and adequate. Beds clean and comfy. A lovely old house full of character which had a nice feel about it but very tired and dated. No problem with that as price was fair. Rather than catch a bus he offered to drop us off on his way. I don't think this sort of service would come from a 5 star international hotel.
