    The owners were both extremely helpful and friendly. We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for. The food was very good, speedily prepared and well presented. The hotel location is superb and is quiet, but only 5 minutes from main roads leading to Silverdale, the Lakes and t - Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

    The location of the Hotel is fantastic. In the middle of nowhere! The history about the Hotel is fascinating. All the facilities the Hotel offered are first rate. The staff are excellent, the food gorgeous and the rooms very clean and tidy.     We were greeted by a very friendly man who couldn't do enough for us. He allowed us into our room much earlier than usual as we wanted to get ready for a wedding nearby. The room was lovely, clean and had all the necessary bits and bobs we needed (including a hand-held magnifying mirror!). Beds were comfortable, the bathroom was light and clean. ... what people say » Breakfast was good, plenty of it and good, prompt service. Would recommend this hotel to others. - A lovely inn with good, clean rooms and a good sized ensuite bathroom ..and, at times, a working TV... sinceours didn't work!. However, everybody pulled out all the stops to get the TV in working order; alas, it was not to be. We were offered free drinks as compensation in the pub, which we appreciated very much. Other than this amusing story, we had a great time in this lovely place and would definitely go back!

We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

    Reception girl was really nice, had professional approach to all my questions and tried to help me out whenever we needed..Room was really clean and free wifi was a good facility every one want to use and enjoy..,and free parking..free cancellation if u change ur plan also give u a peace of mind.. - Friendly staff, and clean room.     Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to town, within walking distance. Accommodation warm, comfortable and all facilities one would expect. Food not exceptional but tasty and well cooked. He made us feel very welcome and was freindly.Natalier was also freindly and welcoming.The food that the head chief Sally prepared was excellent it was cooked fresh and served piping hot. Everyone made us feel so welcome as though we had been go - As a cycling group, several of us arrived late but they kept the kitchen open late to feed us which really was appreciated.     We stayed in a family room and it was very clean and comfortable. Steve cooked us a fabulous English breakfast the following morning. He even carried our bags and gave the kids lollies when we left. He went the extra mile which makes a big difference when you are travelling with kids.     Personal service; beautifully renovated building in a quiet location. Stress-free. The breakfast is all fresh and local; no problem catering for my mother's gluten-free diet. - The rooms, the food, the atmosphere, and the service were all great!
