We stayed in a family room and it was very clean and comfortable. Steve cooked us a fabulous English breakfast the following morning. He even carried our bags and gave the kids lollies when we left. He went the extra mile which makes a big difference when you are travelling with kids. Would stay there again and happy to recommend to others. We received a friendly welcome, a clean and cozy room for our family of five and personalized service. On top of that, we were lucky enough to arrive in time for dinner and had a meal worthy of a five-star restaurant. The Lynebank sets the standard for small, locally owned hotels should be.
all reviews » very nice hotel in the outside longtownl need car to get about but 10mins to carlisle and grenta and 30 mins to dumfries very friendly small dinner menu but steaks where top class and thats from are chef try them will use again as good stop if going up north or down south. Very friendly hotel, which was very accommodating for a young family of five. It is always hard to find rooms which cater for 3 children. Breakfast was excellent, room was clean and tidy. Owner was extremely helpful and friendly. Will stay here again. Just needed a bed, sat nav sent me wrong way but owner talked me in and made me feel really welcome. Everything was fine and breakfast was good. If you want more than this ten you will need to pay more but I liked it and would stay again. friendly owner made a proper meal for late entries, said he couldn't let them go to bed hungry. he and other guests chatted in a friendly manner. could go for a walk in the evening. Lovely little hotel..Used as an overnight stay on trip to Scotland. Staff were very friendly and helpful even upgraded our room for the same price! Very happy with our stay. Nothing to dislike. small print of Carlisle parking policy.Got £60 fine for parking in city centre after 10pm,without ticket! But there was nothing I didn't like about the Lynebak House hotel. A little dated but then it is a very old building and as such creaky boards etc are to be expected. Shared hair dryers. Road noise and hard to find. it's more like a B&B house. The building is old with crunchy wooden floors. The TV set was ancient, like from the 50's. The shower has a local heater, which is very loud. Road noise Over-booked so we were asked to combine two twin rooms into a family room. This involved an adult sleeping on a z-bed. Rooms are small Staff were disorganised.
