    Our stay at Green Gables Guest House was very comfortable and relaxing. Very warm welcome by Carol on arrival. She is very nice & helpful lady who make our stay very much enjoyable. The guest house is only 10 minutes walk from Windermere Rail station and 25 minutes pleasant walk to the lake side. There is also a bus stop at Broad street, (where the Guest house is situated) so it is easy for the bus pass holders to reach th - Great welcome and comfortable room. Exceptionally good breakfasts - well cooked and served. Good attention to detail. Very short walk along the road to Windermere shops and restaurants. The 7 pound bus will take you to the lakes - stops at end of road. We went up to Grasmere to see Dove Cottage, Wordsworth's beloved home. We asked about doing some washing and it was done overnight.     Excellent location with fabulous views of the surrounding fells and The Old Man of Coniston from our room No.1 The staff were all very friendly and attentive to our needs which included making up a packed lunch for a day walking in the surrounding fells. Would definitely stay here again - waking up to a fabulous view of the mountains from our bed ... what people say » in room 1, priceless. - Friendly welcome from the owner and a lovely room to spend the 3 nights that I did. Good, hearty breakfasts to set you up for a day on the fells - so much so I didnt need anything else until the evening. Parking is easy (midweek admittedly) and free on the road opposite. Good location with all amenities - and pubs - within easy reach.

    Dog and Child friendly. Beautiful food in restaurant and for breakfast (bubble and squeek not hash brown with full English hurrah). We all were really at home here, very relaxed atmosphere. It has a traditional pub area lounge area and Italian restaurant (no dogs in there but they will serve food in the lounge so you can still eat from the restaur... what people say » ant). The supreme family room is luxurious (but no dogs in there). We all enjoyed it there and infact went back 2 weeks later for another enjoyable st - I love this kind of atmospheric hotel _ full of history and with a great ambience. It was in a very interesting area of Sedbergh and was very quiet and comfortable. My room had been recently and excellently refurbished. It was excellent value for money.

    Fabulous family run hotel, we received a warm welcome from tracey, and annette looked after us during breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food for both breakfast and evening meal was delicious. The room had obviously just been refurbished and was spotless.     What a wonderful place you fell in love with the ambience of it the minute you walked in the door, the wonderful welcome by the host Mick with his sunny personality made you feel welcome the room we had was just completed., and it had all what we needed. A lovely comfortable bed, and wonderful pillows . Also the inn itself had so much character ... what people say » with Mick's collection of tea pots making it somehow special. Recommend it to anyone who just wants a nice comfortable atmosphere and in no need of - Mick was so hospitable and very friendly, I felt really welcome and didn't want to leave, it was a real 'home from home' so cosy and comfortable. The food is amazing and there's an extensive menu. Nothing is too much trouble and you are really well looked after. Great rooms with lovely views, very spacious and a fab shower plus loads of parking. A great place to stay whatever the season and whatever the weather! Loved it!

    We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. Good to see a hotel supporting local real ale brewers not not just the usual 'fizz' that most hotels offer.     The Hillside B&B is first class. The proprietors are very friendly and make your stay a pleasurable experience. The room I stayed in was spotlessly clean and I'm sure all the rooms will be a similar standard . As the name suggests the property is on a hillside.     More than anything, the hosts. The most helpful and friendliest I have ever met. Even if the appartment had been less than perfect (which it wasn't) it wouldn't have mattered because Graham & Janett are just so nice ! Very clean shower !     Before travelling I received a phone call asking what time I would be arriving. The owners son showed us to our room and was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and Steve even offered to go and buy me rye bread as I can't eat wheat bread.. These little touches make the boundary a good hotel, as they go out of their way to make your stay a pleas... what people say » urable experience. The room was clean, warm (maybe to warm) with excellent facilities. I would definitely advise other travellers to stay at the bou - We loved our stay at the Boundary. We went for my wifes birthday and loved everything about it. We stayed in the Hobbs room with a 4 poster bed and gorgeous bathroom. The staff and owner were friendly and extremely helpful. All in all I highly recommend staying here and we will definately be back in the future.
