    Very nice B&B just a few minutes outside the centre of Keswick. We had a nice room, on the first floor, with all comfort necessary for some beautiful days. The owner is a very friendly person, giving all the info needed to spent some days in and around Keswick. Not only regarding walks but also regarding tearoom, pubs,... He takes also care of... what people say » your wet clothes (rain, falling into a river,...) to get them dry. Great typical English breakfast ! If you're looking for a B&B in Keswick, than - Everything about the guest house indicated a concern to serve the residents to a high standard. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nicely prepared with plenty of main course choice. The owners were friendly without being intrusive. The view from the rear landing stairs, if you are on one of the upper floors, of Latrigg, Skiddaw & Blencathra make a great start and finish to each day. And it's only a quarter mile gentle downhill stroll into the centre of Keswick. Five star

    A gem of a B&B. Large family room with a very smart bathroom and the best power shower I've ever used. Beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, spotless and quiet. Dave is charming, friendly and very welcoming. His knowledge of walks in the area is really useful - he has climbed every hill from every angle and can offer good advic... what people say » e on where to go to get away from the hoards. The breakfast was huge, hearty and freshly cooked. We shall definitely return. - The Twin room we stayed was spacious, clean and warm especially large shower room! The breakfast was cooked to perfection especially mushrooms, tomatoes :) David and Angie made us feel welcome and were very helpful when needed. Thank David told us the forecast everyday in order to help us how to plan our day if it rains .... Do enjoy the view from High sweden Bridge ! And Derenwater at Keswick !!! Thank you for making us feel at home !!!

    Beautiful location with excellent views over Esthwaite Water and Beatrix Potter's Hill Top Farm 200m up the road. Spacious and comfortable rooms, with ground floor rooms available for those with limited mobility. Spotlessly clean. Hot showers, cozy bed, great WIFI, quiet and restful, close to Near Sawrey, Beatrix Potter and the Tower Arms pub. Host was gracious, accommodating, witty and helpful. Dinner was excellent; breakfast beautifully prepared. The croissants were the best ever.

    My husband and i enjoyed a super short break at the traditional Kirkwood Guest House, that is comfortable, welcoming and good value for money. Its nice to see a Guest House full of traditional character and not ultra modern that can sometimes give you that cold feeling. Our large downstairs room was very comfortable, warm and spotlessley clean with a modern and spacious en-suite. The co - We had a wonderful and most memorable stay at Kirkwood Guest House. Firstly Mags and Boys were fabulous hosts and Boyd was incredibly helpful with giving us advice and highly detailed directions to the area which he knows incredibly well. The location of Kirkwood couldn't be better - 5 minutes walk to both Windermere and Bowness-on-Windemere where there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from and delightful and quaint shops to explore. The guesthouse is beautifully appointed and spotless

    Fantastic food, great location, very welcoming staff. My husband and I stayed here last week to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.     Alison was very welcoming and helpful. Just having had a foot operation she was keen to provide any help needed. The room was quiet and the bed large and comfortable. The en-suite had everything needed, with a good shower & hot water. The whole place was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and not greasy.     Absolutely lovely couple, really friendly, really easy to chat to, and not at all intrusive. Really lovely house, breakfasts were fantastic, and the views/location are utterly superb.     Beautiful room, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful hosts with good recommendations if you don't know Ambleside very well. Very accommodating when we asked for an early breakfast as heading out on an early outing, we then had the cooked breakfast the following morning and it was the best meal we had in Ambleside all w... what people say » eekend! The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodatingThey provided us with many tips on the area. My parents liked the place so much they went back to stay again a few days later.     Staff were polite and helpful. Room was quiet and respectful. It represented the Lakes environment, it was a simple shelter which had the essentials and no more in a mountainous region.     We were made really welcome but given our privacy. The bedding was beautiful quality and the bathroom facilities were compact but efficient. The location in town was perfect, everywhere is a minute's walk, the views were gorgeous from front or back of the house but it was still quiet. My single room and ensuite were decorated in a modern, relaxing style. warm room, plenty of hot water for showers and a hairdryer. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of hot dishes as well as cereals, juice, toast, fruit and yogurts. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Rysdale and would highly recommend it to others
