It was a great place to go to after spending the day in Salisbury. We weren't sure about food options and unfortunately ate prior to getting there. Rollestone Manor has a great restaurant on site. If you don't eat there, you are better off finding something in Salisbury. We had twins on the ground floor which were very comfortable. The stairs for ... what people say » the upper floor are quite steep, but our friends had no complaints. The atmosphere is one of a country manor. We wished we had more time to just relax - After a few City hotels this was a breath of fresh air and gave us the relaxing vacation we needed. The rooms were very large, the beds so comfortable, hard to wake up for the delicious breakfast that was included. Dinner options available and certainly worth reserving the food was amazing. Can't decide on deserts, well go for their mini desert option - get to sample them all..... we were made to feel at home by the owners and the staff were super and so helpful. We loved it. Wonderful location in centre of Devizes. This has always been one of my favourite pubs especially in winter with log fires, friendly bar staff, lots of dogs and a good range of food and drinks available at all times of day. First time I had stayed here and I was very pleased with the large, comfortably furnished room overlooking the market place. ... what people say » Good sized bathroom too, parking available and good food in the bistro. Most of all The Bear is a fabulous old building which can not be easy to maint - Friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast! We were travelling with our son, his partner and a very young baby and also an elderly mother and aunt. All were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. They were also very accommodating when we requested early check-ins in order to change for a wedding. All in all a lovely hotel.

    1. Simple old fashioned coaching inn with "Ghostly" history. To be fair, we arrived were attending a party nearby, had B/Fast next morning and left so didn't make use of the pub etc. The staff were fine and there had been a slight mix up over booking B/Fast however the owner really went out of his way to sort us out. B/Fast was one ... what people say » of the best we'd had in a long time staying at a venue. Well done. - Very friendly staff with good food. The breakfast was delicious but beware of the portion size (huge). The coaching inn is in the centre of Devizes. Ask to see the cellars as they were part of a tunnel system that ran all around Devizes in the old days. Room No. 4 is said to be one of the most haunted in England.

Staff were excellent, room was nice and had a proper coffee machine and a turndown service before we retired to bed. Food in the pub restaurant was reasonable and very good, hence, if wanting to eat there u need to make a reservation as they were full, people travel from miles away to eat here. - The accommodation was very comfortable and modern.... what people say » It was separate to the Inn which meant it was nice and quiet. The Inn itself was perfect, lots of nooks and crannies, stone walls and a blazing fire. Good choice of food for both dinner and breakfast.

I stayed in the hottest part of 2013 and my room in the attic was very hot and with the windows open very noisy. However, the hotel had done their best and I had an excellent electric fan and there were even ear plugs available. At any other time of year I would have enjoyed it but the hot weather was hardly the hotel's fault. The evening was made... what people say » memorable by an excellent meal in town at a place called "The Bistro" which I thoroughly recommend. - I have visited this hotel twice within 2 weekends with different groups of family / friends. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, and went the extra mile to ensure that all our needs were met. Great breakfast, and good value for money.

The hotel was excellent for the price. I felt that the photos on the website and the comments from other customers did not give an accurate picture.
