    We had a very friendly welcome from Liz who once showing us our room brought us a tray of tea and coffee and her homemade cookies. The room also was very clean exactly as the photos show. We were also asked our preference on breakfast and what time we would like. There was also unlimited refreshments in the room. Liz and were both so smiley and helpful upon arrival, it was as if you were part of their family. The kitchen was full of goodies, breakfast cereal, tea, coffee, milk, eggs, butter and fresh bread. The scones with jam and cream were a lovely surprise too! The suite was spotless, the bed very comfy and the little touches made our evening very special.     Attentive staff, made to feel welcome, responded positively to all requests, friendly atmosphere in restuarant, excellent food, very well prepared with local fine ingredients. Room exceptionally clean and well equipped, 4 poster room delightful. The Auberge is easy to find but its location as a stand alone facility adds to the sense of occassion. ... what people say » There is a quaint thatched roof pub (the four horseshoes) about a mile or so away, well worth the visit. Overall the Auberge restaurant and accommodat - We were welcomed and shown to our room immediately. It was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom with large shower. We ate dinner there. The menu had a good number of mains choices. We chose the guinea fowl breast which we found rather overcooked. However the starter and home made bread made up for this. The house red was mellow and not expensive. The breakfast was generous and enjoyable. The staff were polite and friendly.

    We very much enjoyed our stay. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. At short notice, they helped us to find a local flower shop to get a bouquet of flowers for a 100 birthday. Our room was large and well equiped with comfortable bedding. The breakfast was excellent with locally sourced food. We will definitely stay there again.     From the word go the experience, and you can call it that, was great. the staff were caring and nothing as too much. the table for the evening as all arranged. the young man showing me to the room was pleasant and able to get the points across. The following mornings breakfast was more of the same and at the end when I saw the bill - Travelled to Lavenham for a weekend break. It is a beautiful little town, steeped in history with pretty tudor buildings lining the streets. This Great House is set in the market square in the centre of the town and is a beutiful building in a wonderful setting. Our room was beautifully decorated, very spacious and comfortable and fully equiped with coffee machine & complimentary sherry! The icing on the cake is the hotel restaurant - the food is amazing!     Thought this hotel was awesome. The whole experience was amazing. Total value for money.Would recommend it to everyone. Will definately be going back. - Everything was so easy. Really accommodating and free upgrade as it wasmy husband's birthday was a lovely touch....made us feel really spoilt.
