The rooms were not only spotlessly clean they also looked and felt fresh, bright and new even though the building is very old and full of character.
Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked to order and served without delay

Castlelodge was the best B&B experience was ever had. We stayed there with our 2 young children who loved the freedom to play outside. The owners were so friendly and welcoming we felt like we came to visit friends, not just staying at B&B. Eggs and cakes a nice welcoming touch and the birdlife right outside the window is a treat to see. Friendly and efficient staff (we were given print out maps of the sites we enquired about which were really useful.
We also liked the fact that restaurant and Bar food was available, both with a view on the lake - we only tested the Bar which was excellent.
The room, with both shower and huge bath tub, extra large and firm bed - we had an excellent night sleep.

Very nice coaching inn with a long history and lots of character, a labyrinth of rooms and low beams. Conveniently located in the middle of Crickhowell (obvious once you spot it, but I managed to drive past it twice), with plenty of parking space through the old coach archway. The bed was very comfortable and I had an excellent supper in the bar -

The Bear is a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and the
welcome was warm. For an old building, the decoration is spot on and the
attention to detail is impressive. We ate in the bar both evenings and
had wonderful food. It was busy, but had a nice atmosphere. The
breakfasts were very good too. I'd highly recommend to anyone
staying in this part of Wales.
