    The owners were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room was big, airey and bright and so was the en-Suite bathroom. Ample off road parking. The rooms were not only spotlessly clean they also looked and felt fresh, bright and new even though the building is very old and full of character. Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked to order and served without delay thanks for the stay.

    We were made to feel very welcome They even got up at 5.30am to make us breakfast !!! As we were there watching the WRC Rally!!! The bed was amazing too !! - Absolutely loved our stray Bed and breakfast at its finest.

    The B&B is situated near the beautiful Brecon Beacons NP and is easy to find. Room was brilliant, with a gorgeous four poster bed situated as a centerpiece in the room! Bathroom is like the room: clean, spacious and extremely well equiped.     The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the whole place was so warm, welcoming and comfortable. We'd chosen a bedroom -Cathedral - in the converted stable and it was lovely.     Very nice coaching inn with a long history and lots of character, a labyrinth of rooms and low beams. Conveniently located in the middle of Crickhowell (obvious once you spot it, but I managed to drive past it twice), with plenty of parking space through the old coach archway. The bed was very comfortable and I had an excellent supper in the bar -... what people say » it looked to be full at first sight but in fact it extends through several rooms so you should be able to find a table in one of them. - The Bear is a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and the welcome was warm. For an old building, the decoration is spot on and the attention to detail is impressive. We ate in the bar both evenings and had wonderful food. It was busy, but had a nice atmosphere. The breakfasts were very good too. I'd highly recommend to anyone staying in this part of Wales.

    The manager, Pedro, was great and especially kind when I got ill during my stay (nothing to do with them, I'm currently in hospital being treated for malaria after spending time in Tanzania). The breakfast - according to my husband - was excellent and the little village is lovely.     My wife and I were only staying at Portland House for one night, to break up our journey down to South Wales, so I was particularly impressed by the way that we were so warmly welcomed by owner Ruth. She was very friendly and helped us to relax as soon as we arrived.     First class reception, our request for an EARLY breakfast was met with equanimity. We could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. - Our hosts were excellent, and made us feel very welcome - very comfortable room and a most enjoyable breakfast - well worth another visit !
