    The location of the hotel was fantastic. We especially liked the fact that the hotel seemed to be the hub of the social scene so there was always plenty to keep you occupied. The pub was very lively and this did not effect our comfort or enjoyment at any point during our stay. Very laid back atmosphere and staff were really helpful. I Think it suits all ages and all sorts! All in all we had an extremely good visit - we will be back!

    This is a superb B&B. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Pleasantly decorated and the rooms are extremely comfortable with everything you need for a good nights sleep. The couple who run the B&B are very welcoming and do everything they can to make you feel at home. The home cooked breakfast is delicious. Not only is it very well cooked... what people say » , all of the ingredients are local. You CAN taste the difference. The freshness of it all is simply mouthwatering. - I stayed in the single room for one night. It was very clean and more than sufficed my needs. Bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, cold cereals and fruit followed by a choice of cooked breakfasts.

    being at Broughton House is like being with family in that you have cate to look after you just like any good mum would when you go home.....and she cannot do enough for you,she is super happy and her cooking is legendary. Absolutely amazing breakfasts with just so much choice and all made by hand even the muesli, which is the best you could ever ... what people say » taste down to the freshly squeezed orange juice, to the fresh organic chicken eggs to fresh farm bacon n sausage n black pudding.........plates of fre - We liked that we felt at home and our dog was made welcome. The breakfast was great food and loved fact we could say what time we would like to eat Bed really comfy and homemade biscuits and chocolate brownie was added bonus. Cate was clearly a people person, she was slightly eccentric which was endearing ( hope she doesn't mind me saying so ). She worked really hard to make sure we had everything we needed, even finding a recipe for hash browns for my husband Will definitely book again

    We stayed 3 nights at this delightful guest house set in the peaceful surroundings of Near Sawrey. Our hosts were very welcoming without being over bearing. The double room with en-suite facilities was spotless with a beautiful view over the wonderful countryside. A stone throw away from a lovely quaint pub/restaurant and near to Beatrix Potter's... what people say » Hill Top farm. Breakfast was excellent with great choice. There are lovely walks and we would recommend a gentle 20 mins. walk up to the beautiful l - Very pretty cosy cottage .Nice touch when were asked if we would like a cup of tea lovely home made scones arrived plus tea on day 1 and delicious lemon drizzle cake on day 2.Breakfasts were yummy plenty of choice just for starters and the full" Cumbrian Breakfast" and Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs, real tea in a teapot and ground coffee well what more can you say but excellent . Bedrooms lovely and warm and lots of nice touches .Definitely stay again .

    Owners - Simon and David extremely friendly and helpful. Our first time to the lakes and as well as serving up fantastic breakfasts they gave us great guidance on some really good walks. Location is great - 5 mins walk to loads of great restaurants. We had the loft room and our teenage daughter the small double. They had everything you needed incl... what people say » uding Tea, Coffee, chocolate snacks!. We had a really good time .... and plan to go back soon. - The owners, Simon & David, were very friendly & welcoming. The breakfast was great, with a good choice of dishes. There were some nice little touches, like providing tissues etc. The beds were very comfortable too. I would definitely stay there again.

    We haad a lovely couple of days here, the staff were very polite and freindly. We have stayed here before and would recommend this hotel.We chose it because we like to take our dog and they are dog freindly.     We knew the distance hotel was from main tourist areas like Windermere. The hotel is down a long quiet country lane. The breakfast was "spot on". Thank you for your service. The bar is popular with other holiday makers i.e caravan and lodges and the price of the drinks were reasonable.     the hotel itself was great - what you would expect of a centuries old english pub. the rooms were of a very high standard and kept very clean. the evening meals were of a very high standard. the management, staff & particularly the chef were very accommodating. the area is stunning with many great walks to have - A hidden gem with Prosecco on... what people say » tap & delicious food, in beautiful pictureque surroundings, what more could you need.     Ferndale Lodge had everything we needed for a good price. We stayed in their 'small double' room and it is definitely small! But it had a compact ensuite bath and wonderful views. We weren't missing anything. Breakfasts were tasty and generous - a good selection of yogurts, fruit, cereals and full English breakfast fare. The staff were friendly and attentive and the accommodation was all around very comfortable - Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights, 27th and 28th July. Very clean comfortable room and bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. We would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the Windermere Lake. Just a short stroll into the town of Ambleside and 1 mile to the Lake.

    Everything was excellent fromJohn's help on the best way to get to whitehaven and where to eat etc and the room was fabulous. Lovely comfy big bed and even a lounge in between the three rooms downstairs if you wanted a bigger tv! Lovely spot with a bbq and patio area if the weather is nice. The place was immaculate and very modern comfortable design. Breakfast in the open plan kitchen is a good idea, nice ice breaker for shyer travellers. Would definitely recommend to other.
