    Jackie, her staff and even the locals were really welcoming. Although we didn't have a loo in our room (just across the hall) we did have a shower & wash hand basin. We had a lovely view of the sea front and the room was clean and very comfortable. Telly, tea and coffee all included in the room and the room was refreshed during our stay. Bus s... what people say » top just outside the Inn and £5.50 pp secured a 2 zone bus ticket for the day. Live music in the bar on Saturday night so all in all a lovely weekend - The location is on the seafront at Newbiggin and all rooms have a sea view. Jackie and Dave were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Real ale served in the bar and all locals we met were also very friendly and made us very welcome. Ann, thanks for a lovely cooked breakfast. Just hope we can make a return visit soon. This is a great place to stay, a local home from home.

    I booked the premier inn for my sons honeymoon night, The receptionist was very helpful as we had to check in for them as it was a surprise and she even bought them a card which was really nice. My son said it was really comfortable and clean,breakfast was great. I live locally so know the location is beautiful right next to the QEII lake which ta... what people say » kes between 20-30 minutes to walk around.The town of Ashington is only a 2 minute drive away.I would recommend this to anyone - Premier Inn Rooms are generally all the same, extremely well appointed, clean with excellent facilities and this one was no exception. There was a restaurant next door which provided excellent value for money meals

We were immediately greeted on arrival and were helped to carry our bags in, which was a nice touch. The room has been decorated very stylishly and the bed is ultra comfortable. I believe that this B&B offers excellent value for money. Particularly with the very friendly and helpful owners included. We would definitely stay here again.

    I selected the Captain's Lodge based on its great reviews and was not disappointed. Kathy was a wonderful hostess, getting up extra early to make my breakfast and taking the time to chat with me while I ate. Billy even helped me out by backing my car through the gate for me - a bit of a squeeze and a daunting task for a novice "wrong side of the ... what people say » road" driver. Kathy recommended a wonderful Indian restaurant that was a pleasant seaside stroll away and the people of this quaint, little fishing vi - I booked late, as I had a meeting in Ashington the next day and didn't fancy the local budget chain hotel. The front of Captain's Lodge is literally a stone's throw from the sea, just the other side of a promenade and I enjoyed a cup of tea on the terrace before breakfast in glorious sunshine. The room and bed were v comfortable - the best night's sleep I've had in ages. Room well equipped incl WiFi and breakfast excellent. The owner was welcoming and helpful.
