  We had an exceptionally warm welcome at this comfortable guesthouse. Decor was homely without being twee; breakfast was really good: homemade bread, top-quality ingredients. Although it's located a bit away from the centre of Margate, it was a pleasant walk along the seafront to the Turner Contemporary and the Old Town. Easily one of the best places we've ever stayed in the UK, including some that were three or four times the price. - A warm welcome, Rob greeted me at the front door with my name and a smile. I had booked a single room but they upgraded me to a lovely Laura Ashley double room, that was cosy and beautifully decorated. This was a lovely gesture. The house is decorated beautifully throughout and full of period features. Breakfast was filling and very tasty. I was in Margate on business so I didnt explore the area but I would definitely stay here if I return again.

  We were really surprised at the standard of accommodation we were offered for our £52. We were upgraded on arrival to a sea view room which was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast, included in the price, was absolutely delicious and the waitress gave my boyfriend an extra breakfast because he couldn't decide what to have! We will go back ag... what people say » ain as it was a lovely relaxing couple of days away. Thank you. - Everything about the hotel and the staff. We had a comfortable and well decorated room in which to relax; loved the squashy leather settees and thoroughly enjoyed eating in the bar area as the staff were so efficient and friendly. The chef is a star - we ate on both nights of our stay, and both meals were a delight. Would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

  Nothing had quite prepared us for the treat in store when we booked this short break. The design, decor and ambience of 'Bleak House' is unique. The owners have succeeded in keeping the sense of history and Victorian atmosphere and combining it with the high standards expected by today's visitors. We sense that 'Bleak House' is a labour of love... what people say » and appreciated all the little touches which demonstrate this: from the beautifully polished furniture to the displays of Dickensian memorabilia. We - Every single member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. The service was faultless insomuch that they could not do enough for you to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The house is beautifully decorated, fantastic outlook across the lawns and the bay, clean, comfortable bed, welcoming glass of sherry, slippers even. It is not surprising that Dickens loved staying here. We had a very memorable time and would like to thank all staff concerned. Would definitely recommend.

  Amazi ping staff, friendly yet professional and made us feel so welcome and provided us a super service! Breakfast was WOW! Fab cooked breakfast and amazing smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a bagel - yum! Short walk to the beach and the loan of thei lovely beach hut full mod buckets and spades and comfy chairs to use. Took my mum and 3 year... what people say » old sn, so suited all ages. The garden room was lovely with access to their garden via the large airy bathroom. Was lovely at the end of a beach da - On arrival we were given tea and chocolate biscuits in the breakfast room by the friendly and gregarious host. The room was comfortable and well appointed with a beautiful and spacious bathroom. The breakfast on offer was excellent with fruit yoghurt and granola, warm brioche, superb scrambled eggs and smoked salmon plus toast and chunky marmalade. It kept us going all day! Parking in the road opposite was easy and free.
